I don't know how real or played up this feud is, and I don't want to encourage it if it's legitimately some bad blood. But "This late game Bloodborne motherfucker! This 7 foot 3 pile of dog bones!" was really good.

I laughed so hard during this segment I cried. It was magical. They somehow top themselves every year.

I'm not sure if this classifies as irony or not, but I would've started following Kessler on twitter after seeing that segment.

Was that whole Lang/Kessler thing supposed to be funny? Because to me it sounded more like two guys airing their grievances live on stream. Maybe you have to be in on the joke to get it.

I found it mostly awkward and weird.

@clenchmask: I’m not stalking social media for every mention of a past GB intern and/or Dave Lang. From my point of view it looked like two grown ass men being passive aggressive to each other on what was supposed to be a fun closing out of E3.

Maybe host your own life stream if you want to do some sort of performance comedy.

people questioning the feud: it’s 100% played up. It’s all a joke. 100%. The situation is funny and they’re having fun with it. Austin Walker probably wrote Kessler’s monologue for him. They are all just having fun. What is wrong with you people?

@nigeth: Its a bunch of very good and long time friends hanging out after a long and very busy week, having a few drinks and enjoying all being together. They don't need to do explain how things work at the start of every video they do.

And it is THEIR live stream, and they invited THEIR friends to come on and riff. Not sure what your problem is.

@nigeth: If you were there the whole chat was in on it, this was obviously set up by the crew. People were calling for this in the chat since Wednesday’s stream. It was a hoot. Just because you weren’t in on the joke doesn’t mean that it was bad. This is an archive, just skip past the Kessler segment.

I didn't know anything about the backstory for the Kessler/Lang feud, and I wasn't watching live. But it seemed incredibly obvious that it was an extended bit and everyone was just having a good time.

Johnny V saying it was like SNL was spot on. There were some hilarious lines, but it did go on a little too long.

Maybe if you follow everything Dave Lang does and keep up to date with the greater universe of GB alumni and have been following them since the gamespot days then it’s ultra funny and the best shit ever.

I was mostly confused and weirded out why two men kept getting into a pissing match on a live GB stream while everyone else was just looking.

The Kessler bit was magical for me because all I had to go on was random references to him from earlier streams (like a joke about him being banned from E3). I didn't understand the context at all, so piecing things together as he did his bit felt perfect.

One thing I still don't know about - They say this is the last time they can have this segment, is that an in-joke or is something actually happening?

It's a joke. They say it every year. I was cracking up watching chat take that seriously last night.
