Quick Look: After Burner Climax

Ah, the nostalgia. I used to love this game as a kid, I thought that the Tomcat was awesome.

This may be the first game I've ever gotten ill from watching.  So.Much.Spinning!  
 
Still looks like a sweet game, though.

Always Be Clothing is probably the best moment in every quick look I've seen so far.  Well played.

This would be awesome in a hydraulic cabinet, but I really have no interest playing this on a modern console in the comfort of my home.  Back when arcades still walked the nation, this was an automatic 2-token ride for me, but that's because it felt like a theme park ride.  Galaxy Force II was the same way.  
 
I will say that if 3D ever takes off, this is a game that would really benefit from that technology.  Even in our homes, this game in 3D would could create that special feeling of chaos and stomach churning confusion that was present in the arcade cabinet version.

By far the best Sega game in ages. Thank goodness we still have AM2 around.

never played through the After Burner Series but I did own the game Sky Target for the Saturn. Though without the boost or the barrel roll this brings back memories.

I just played the arcade version of this on vacation last week, and probably spent more money doing so than it would have cost to buy the game.

Jeff just laughing like a complete lunatic whilst barrel rolling on Fast makes me want to buy this game. SO FAST YESSSSSS!

Goddamn, now this is how you do a remake of a classic arcade game. If only Yar's Revenge and that Golden Axe game were this awesome.
