Quick Look: Altitude

The quickest of looks.

This is the first I've seen of this game and it seemed pretty fun. I wish Ryan didn't write it off so quickly I wanted to hear a bit more of Dave's take on it. 
 
The price is way too high for a little multiplayer game. 
If it had a crazy single player and maybe co-op play I think I could pay 15$ for it. 
As is I'd pay 5$ for it.. I feel all stingy and old now.

This game is awesome. I played it back in the beta over the summer, it's so addicting.

i kind of don't know why they'd bother to upload a QL that's less than 6 minutes long.

Ryan should stick to console gaming. Seriously, keep him out of PC quick looks.

Yes, those silly PC games, with their lag-free servers, free mods, free multiplayer and customisable server browsers that grant the user choice. God, those all such terrible things! Exactly, SunKing. Like it or not, doing these videos comes with responsibility, as does every journalistic coverage. Your point of view and your words might influence people to not buy or buy this, and that might or might not put food on peoples tables, especially from such a large and popular site as this and especially small developers trying to make it big, every sale matters for them, and most need good sales on a small title to be able to continue, well, that's really for every game, but they might not get a second chance if it all tanks. Just laughing it off, sure you can do it. But I think everyone, including the viewers here, expect a fair QL, with some respect for the game and all, atleast in some form.

This Quick Look makes me want to get the game. Looks like something you play in fun, quick bursts.

Geez, what was up with Ryan being a huge jerk to Dave during this.

I don't know if astroids/subspace physics work so well in a sidescroller. For $10 though, I don't think you'll get enough out of it when Subspace is free.

If anyone wants to know how this game plays, you can download the demo off Steam.

Subspace got extra awesome when the giant Burger King ads started showing up.

This is a lot of fun to play.. Killed about 3 hours goofing off in it today instead of playing Dragon Age. Truly this is the age of loopy.

I love the game and I don't think the quick look did it any justice as the Giantbomb crew is a bunch of console fanboys . :)

Although the graphics and gameplay are simple, they're fun to play. The game is one of those "easy to learn, difficult to master" games and I can say it's pretty addictive. Too bad the community is quite small.

But I admit, 15$ sounds a bit much for the game.

I'd much rather have server browsers than matchmaking. At least I can see the ping of the server I'm joining.

Man, I miss server browsers. There's nothing quite like finding a server that has all the settings and rules you like, while being well administered so people being asses are kept to a healthy minimum. Matchmaking doesn't cater well against the ass-quotient - even if you want to avoid someone, "ranked matches" are apparently too precious to be affected by that.

Shortest quick look ever?

Wow, a $15 title that has dedicated servers, but a $60 title (which I shall not name) doesn't have it.

I love and miss server browsers.

Ahhhhhhhhhh Altitude tortures me. i've got so many games to play. So many amazing games, and yet all I can do is play Altituide constantly. This game doesn't look like much but it really knows how to suck a player in

Are you really surprised that Ryan doesnt like a game for no real reason? Remember Batman:AA? He got proven wrong in the end and will be too by this game IF it deserves it. You cant blame these guys for being sceptic or negative since they have seen ALOT of games that seem like good games but turn out shit.  And for the record this game looks like its shit, it was so damn boring that I actually fell asleep during the QL, and it was only 5min 44sec long "

What dave said about subspace having gone and went isnt true. There are still several very active continuum servers.
