I second this. "
I'm currently still on AC2, but decided to take the risk and watch this. Looks as though they meet a recurring character but without knowing the context of the main game the character means nothing to me. Other than Ryan mentioning a mission type, there is nothing else. If you haven't playing any of AC:B you can probably still watch this.

I just wrapped up Brotherhood and I didn't really catch any spoilers in this. Ryan talking about the Da Vinci Paintings and joking about Alien technical things is about as close as it gets, but if you saw the end of AC2 there are no spoilers  there.

Never got into Assassin's Creed, nor bought the hype of it or found it very interesting at all. In fact, I thought the original had many cop-outs for the storyline. This DLC does nothing for me, obviously.

Ryans frustration in the first 3 minutes is why I hate Assassin's Creed. I cant stand the control and climbing and animations.

Just love the opening moments of Ryan finally catching the guy on the rooftops & having him plus the guard take the plunge. Overall pretty funny QL & agreed with others that now with Ryan/Vinny not sick they need to get back into more QL from the games coming out this week as well as maybe some QL of games like Homefront that came out in the last week or so.

Aah, reminds me that I still need to pick up AC:B at some point, loved AC2 but I usually buy my games after a year or so. I like my games cheap.

There was probably no one playing Assassinate because everyone is playing it in ranked games so they can rank up their character.

I couldn't finish Brotherhood. It felt as if it was nowhere near as polished as Assassin's Creed 2, with constantly being timed and a bevy of other frustrating issues. :(

Show of hands, how many people actually remember that dude Ezio beats up from AC2?  He was part of a very early mission where you beat him up for cheating on Ezio's sister.

Pretty good piece of DLC i'd say, kinda wish it gave some more answers regarding the ending but it seems there are a few subtle clues to decipher.

@Jedted: Ah, simpler times when Ezio was just defending his family's honor with fisticuffs instead of popeicide.

For those wondering, the DLC takes place between the 8th and 9th (last) sequence in Ezio's timeline, and after the credits in Desmond's.

So apparently this game (Assbro, not the DLC) is available on Steam as of Today. I had forgotten they were even planning a PC release, what with the console versions having come out months ago. I will probably pick it up soonish.

Oh, I thought he was the dude you beat up in that big gang-fight at the start of the game. Nice.

Speaking of that guy, he looks UGLY in the spotlight picture on the front page. A rather odd-looking capture, maybe the ugliest frame in the whole QL.

Saw this last night and grabbed it already.  The single player in this game is so sick so I imagine its expansions are similarly awesome.  I always think its funny when people try and talk coherently about the story in this series.

I really don't get how people could be ready for more Assassin's Creed. Like, a year after 2, I still can't figure out how people were so smitten with Brotherhood. I loved the first game and then really enjoyed the second, but I felt so done with the mechanics of the series by the end of that game. Then Brotherhood comes out and people are blowing up about it so, against my better judgement, I went and bought it to find what is essentially the same game as AC2 with more bells and whistles.

This is the first time I've honestly felt like I'm living in the twilight zone when it comes to a game. Normally I'm all "Well, I can see where people could really enjoy this, but I can't." or "Well, I can see where I can enjoy this, but others can't." but for this series...my mind is continually blown by the continued need for more. Level with me Giant Bomb Community, have I somehow totally lost my grip where this game is concerned, or are people just really INSANE about AC?

Hearing Ryan talk about the stuff he had already done was giving me flashbacks to all those annoying missions where getting spotted is instant mission failure... Can we be done with this in the next game, Ubi? Seriously, it's not cool. You've got optional objectives in there for shit like that.

I actually had a similar reaction to Brotherhood. The way Ryan went crazy over it and even called it his game of the year back in the GOTY podcasts kind of baffles me.

It was actually Giant Bomb that finally got me to give Assassin's Creed a go, and for that I'm pretty thankful because I think it's one of the best series of games currently going and certainly the best thing Ubisoft has going for them, but I really really got sick and tired of playing Brotherhood by the time I was done with it. I really liked AC 1 (which seems to be an unpopular position) but I thought AC 2 was far and away the best of the three main games.

For Brotherhood to come out and get hyped up as the best game yet still confuses me, since it's better looking, but it runs poorly compared to the other two, has alot of stuff to do in it, but most activities are ultimately completely pointless, and it plays essentially the same as AC 2. The story bits in the game that do exist are fascinating to me, but those can basically be distilled to the first hour and last hour of them game with absolute monotony in between.

So, you're not the only one. My biggest fear, personally, is where they're going to take the series from here. If they try to switch around to other teams and go back in time again, I really think they're just going to lose the thread and ruin something really special. They've sort of written and gameplayed themselves into a corner, IMO.

That's an unfortunate side effect of the main gameplay time of the series having absolutely nothing to do with what ultimately makes the game interesting.

The controls are a little wonky but if you just slow down a bit it's easy to avoid most problems and people saying when will they fix the controls it's fukin hard to do in a game like this there's no magic "control wrench" they can hit the game with and have the controls be exactly what you want.

That fist fight mission is exactly the kind of shit that makes me angry at the AC games.  No matter how good you are at the game, that mission will always take an excessively long period of time to get through due to the scripted way in which the guy will turn invincible, run off, and and then turn to fight you again.

The mark of a good third person action game is the extent to which a skilled player can speed through any given fight.  Like Ninja Gaiden or Bayonetta.  If you know what you're doing, you can plow through stuff in seconds.  The only difference skilled play makes in AC is the amount of damage you take per encounter.  It's too much scripting.  Too much control over the encounters from the developers.

I guess the heart of my problem is that AC games have waaaaay too much combat for such a shitty combat system.  You hear me Ubisoft?  If your combat sucks, don't force people to deal with it so often.

For anyone still on the fence about this game: the multiplayer is still very active. I can usually get into a game in under a minute and never longer than three.

I also love that Vinny is both the most vulgar and most...whimsical, I think is the word I'd use, editor.

Oh man, I nedd to rent this again. I got to almost the very end, 100% in everything, but couldn't find 1 stupid flag, so I stopped rather than finish the game incomplete. I'm weird like that. But, now I think I know why I couldn't find that last flag. It was in an area you only go to on a mission, I bet.

I didn't want to re-queue it on gamefly just for that, though. This gives me a legit reason.
