Quick Look: Batman: Arkham Asylum

You guys sold me on this with one hilariously cold blooded punch to the face.

I really dig the batman costume, it looks better than the Dark Knight costume.
 
ALso it makes me giddy knowing that Mark Hamill reprises his role as the Joker! The animated series Joker is my joker.

This game was 38 bucks Canadian at Wal-Mart.  I've been having a pretty fun time with it.  I am a huge fan of the Animated Series, so I was bound to get this.  Glad to see it's getting good reviews around the web.  I wonder what GB will give it? Based on Ryan's attitude in this vid, I'll guess 4 stars. Heh.

Damn the start of the full game is very different to the demo, hella more awesome.

He better not since its a 5 star game going by GiantBombs standards(comparing to other games thats gotten a 5). So far this year, Its GOTY for me. "

havent played it yet but damn did that whole intro give me a major Escape from Butcher Bay vibe. 

With the close up on the Joker's face I gasped at just how good this game looks...
 
The fact that it actually plays well as well is just intense...
 
A huge thumbs up to the Dev's on this one; Can't wait to play it myself in a week or two (Just finishing up a couple of other things first).

and Ryan, you're right, Harley came from the cartoon originally first then became a comic character. and she does say in the game that it's her new outfit so they acknowledge that it's not her original costume. :)

I was blown away by the Demo. I can't wait to play this game. Finally a game that does Batman justice.

I think it is an okay game with well known fiction backing it. But with all the games out, i have stopped playing games like this.... i just dont have the time, or patience

this game just doesn't appeal to me at all, just looks like pressing a few buttons to make automated things happen on screen, which is the main problem with modern day games imo. just a pity this is so highly acclaimed I dont want devs to make more of these mass market 'interactive media' type things...i want to PLAY.

Ryan was right about the "Arkham" branding being heavy.  The 2nd game is "Arkham City".

I have to play this again. Forgot how awesome the art style it is

So great to hear Brad and Ryan's reactions to seeing this stuff for the first time. You can understand why they would be sceptical about a licensed Batman game, but man, that game is awesome.

I'm replaying this while I wait for the PC version of Arkham City and it has me gripped all over again.

Shame this game came out in the era when they were still doing "quick" quicklooks. Would have loved to get more of their first reactions to the game.
