Quick Look: Fallout: New Vegas

Hah, the first thing I thought was "thank god they changed the hud colour from that awful orange to this awesome blue", but guess not. But now I know it can be changed at least. Thank you, Jeff!

I know that the 360 is the standard console, so it makes sense to use it for reviews since it's what more people are likely to be playing the game on, but dammit it makes these QLs frustrating when the 360 version performs poorly and then forms the basis of people's expectations.  The last several QLs of games have been on a 360, showing low frame rates, long loading times, and in some cases the fact that the game was on multiple discs.  Just once I'd like to see a game or two be shown on a PC or PS3 and not only because it's an exclusive to the platform.  It's like Giant Bomb thinks nobody owns a PS3.  This isn't 2007 when it was $600, had 5 games on it, and nobody owned one, so don't keep acting like it is.

watching this video makes me remember how much I dislike fallout 3.... and hey... new vegas doesnt half take an age to load

Something about Bethesda's quality of their games I like about. It could be how silly they can be and yet there still a lot of good stuff in the game that balances it all out. Definitely getting this.

Well I love Fallout 3 but I don't think even I can justify buying this game right now. Hearing the same ambient music from that game here just made me sad

Why does everyone's head look like its twitching to the side? 

What the fuck is going on with their scalps? Are they holograms? I never noticed flickering scalps in Fallout 3.

I cant comprehend how people actually thought Fallout 3 was good, and how they think this game, which is basically the same game, is good as well.

 We only got a 360 copy of New Vegas before the release date, which is what publishers do with multiplatform titles the vast majority of the time. But feel free to keep pretending you know everything about the way we operate if it makes you feel good. "

my eyes hurt. they really hurt from watching this QL. Like seriously, they need to spend more time polishing the kinks in their games. Those flashing textures and stuff really mess with the games credibility and reduce its quality as a product. :(

Glad I picked this up on Steam.

I actually just bought and started playing fallout 3 two weeks ago.  It's awesome! 
I'll pick this up patched and cheap in a year as well. :)

I think the fact that I had to check the video player to see if the video locked up numerous times says about it all. 
But man, do I want to play it! :D

Seems like Jeff has gotten ALOT of bugs when playing new Fallout games.  F3 was glitchy,but I could stand it.  I plan on getting New Vegas real soon!

Did anyone else recognize the music at the 27:00-27:10 mark?  Sounds really familiar.

I'm glad that companions can't die. I had one die on me in Fallout 3, and he died, and that saddened me. Fawkes was damn near invincible though. 

After playing 200+ hours i would have enjoyed a slight change in presentation but it still looks awesome.

Got this today and I'm just about to play it. 
No matter how many crazy-ass bugs were in it and no matter how many times I had to reset my console after the game crashed on me, I adored Fallout 3 and consider it my favorite RPG of all time. When a game can deliver on story and characters, as well as an awesome environment, I'm in, no matter how frustrating its technical issues can be.
