Animaniacs does in fact hold up. I've been watching it off and on the last couple of months, and it is still pretty damn good. Don't know if Tiny Toons is any good nowadays.

@alex@vinny There was a Chucky movie that came out direct-to-dvd 3 years ago called Curse of Chucky. I've heard it's pretty good.

Huh, people have been bringing this up like it's the return of the LJN era of awful movie tie-ins, but I think there have been plenty of licensed games in recent years that have looked way worse - Men In Black 3 and the Star Trek Gears Of War clone from 2013 come to mind, not to mention some of those Turtles games.

This doesn't look good, but it doesn't look awful by any means. If it wasn't for the length of each level, this even looks like it may be fun for short sessions. But then the levels seem to go on for about twice as long as I'd like those sessions to be.

Also, if we're gonna bring up Ghostbusters music, this track from Ghostbusters 2 was pretty amazing:

Excuse me, please, the new movie is very good and funny and well directed and acted and an excellent homage to the original. Please don't speak ill of the new movie, not like you would have any valid reasons to do so anyway, of course, because it's a wonderful movie that's very funny and an excellent homage to the original. Thank you.

For the price... no way. There's a better isometric Ghostbusters game with co op multiplayer and that one is $10. It's barely worth $10.

Whoever the publisher is on this game should fire the project lead for thinking they could price this thing that high. We need to start weeding those people out of the business.

Seriously, though, this game looks alright. The levels might be too long but I don't see any other major faults with it. I like the style and it reminds me of Hunted: The Reckoning so that's always a good thing. I think it might be pretty fun with four people.

Edit: Woah, 50 dollars?! Okay, that's too much. 10 bucks, okay, 15, you're pushing it, but 50 is insane.

In the Episode 1 introduction of Babs, she summons the persona of Dolly Parton and exclaims "I'm-a bustin' out all over!" after getting massive boobs. Then she transforms into a Marilyn Monroe faux simili and makes out with Buster.

Like Animaniacs, It's pretty great in the context of the current generation of prudes who'd throw a fit over it on Twitter if it was a new thing.

I rewatched Ghostbusters recently after not seeing it for 20 years or so and I still don't quite get how this franchise got so big in the US. I feel like I need a time machine and travel to the USA of 1984-85.

Not to be "that guy", but the word is facsimile . (Random trivia -- "fax" machines are named such because the send facsimiles of the original document to people over long distances.)

ANYWAY...

Who the hell are these characters? They're not from the original movies. They're not from the new movies. They're not from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. They're not from the NEW Ghostbusters cartoon. Are they cartoon versions of the developers?

EDIT: Ah, explained later in the video. Sooooooo basically fan-fiction characters.

"GB Headquarters" had me confused for a second, til I remembered GB could stand for other things.

Alex says in the opening that this doesn't really have anything to do with the new movie, but as someone who's seen the new movie (it came out a few days ago here in the UK) it seems like it follows on from it. The Aldridge Mansion is where the new movie begins, and the references to Patty (Tolan, Leslie Jone's character in the movie) and Ley Lines (which is a major plot device in the new movie) tie it in pretty closely.

Also, the Fall Out Boy version of the Ghostbusters theme isn't the only new one. The soundtrack actually has three or four different new versions of the classic Ray Parker Jr. theme, and the original is also used in the opening sequence of the new movie.
