I'm not a fighting game guy, but I can't recall ever seeing an amputee fighting game character.

@lestephan: I mean, it's the same reason why there's still a lot of people who think feeding wildlife is ok and leave dogs/babies in cars on a hot day. Most of us just don't know.

I have been a sub since the early days, honestly Ben needs to improve in some aspect. Even if he took an improv class to make sure he can make a joke.

Doesn't help that Abbey's awesome since the first podcast and making East the only reason to Sub.

Guilty Gear is the loudest fighting game. It's almost like a Pachinko Hall.

Time for Ben to stream this from home the same way Jeff does Trackmania.

Does this game also feature a great tutorial?

The best tutorial in the business. It actually makes it fun to do rather then "do x combo".

I love Injustice 2 but I really wish I could *learn* specific characters instead of just going what works for me and be stuck with that.

Woah, didn't expect Jeff to pull out a sly FATT reference at the end there.

Quick minor clarification on how the meters in this game work:

The gauge Ben was talking about that you can use as a combo breaker when it fills up is the burst gauge in the upper right and left, and fills up gradually over time as well as a little from dealing damage and a bit more from taking damage.

What Jeff was asking about was the unlabeled meter near the upper center of the screen, which is a block meter as seen in KOF and various other fighting games. It goes up when you block a move, and goes down over time or when you attack, and exists so you don't just turtle up and play defensively for the entire round, because when you fill it up your guard fails and you get combo'd.

It came across as kinda confusing in the video so I figured some explanation would be helpful.

@fightingfalco If this gives you any indication of the complexity, there are four(!) meters to keep track of at all times. Not to mention that some characters have their own additional meters. I platinum'ed GGXRD, but I don't feel like I even came close to understanding it, let alone being good at it. It was a blast though.

@dasakamov Sorry dude, but I don't know how you could hear a name like "Sol Badguy" or "Revolver Ocelot" and think "these people don't understand English" rather than "these people have a wild sense of humor." Especially with all the other insane stuff going on around those characters.

@ravelle: I'd say the Killer Instinct announcer tips it over the edge for me. Both these games have fantastic sound design.

Genuinely don't understand the comments under every video that say that Ben isn't funny. Is it the same guy making that comment or something? It's wild to me. Ben's one of the top 3 or 4 funniest people in the crew, and that's just science.

RISC is not a block meter but rather a damage scaler.

At least the Story Mode is massive and incomprehensible unless you played all the previous games!

The lack of "shotoclone sickness" is a thing to worry about. I guess the only way to get around it is to just raw play the whole cast. That's how I ended up on Baiken and Potemkin back in the day. Maybe I'd like Answer too? That's how it works for me at least.

On that tangent, Baiken looks like she's taking even less shit than previously in this.

My first Guilty Gear experience. Presentation is ludicrous. The mechanics seemed rock solid and deep when I played the demo so I just ended up buying it. Does anyone here have recommendations for a good PS4 fight stick?

I like PS4 Hori Real Arcade Pro sticks, I have a RAP4, and they've just released the RAP V and it's been well received from what I've read.

I wonder if Jeff's the kind of guy to play a clicker with a podcast going on in the background. I'd like to believe he's heard all COUNTER/Weight.

As someone who does not play fighting games or have the time to properly invest in getting good at them, holy shit. This game is fucking gorgeous and fun as hell to watch.

@metalrufflez: Hey, just wanted to let you know, there's actually only 2 DLC characters in REV. Raven, while unlockable with cold hard cash if you so choose, can also be purchased with the in-game currency (going through the story will get you more than enough) or even fished out of the pond in lobbies!

Tuner and Dizzy you're out of luck with sadly.
