Quick Look: Legend of Grimrock 2

Still need to finish the first Grimrock. This game looks awesome, though.

Man. I love Grimrock 2, they did a great job expanding pretty much everything about the old game.

But I still can't help but think that I would like it more if it were turn based. There's nothing fun about losing fights because you fucked up the mouse movement on your mage's spell, or didn't right click fast enough. That's as true in this one as the original. I guess that would mess up the action-based puzzles though (which are great).

I don't know. Still a great game.

Vinny keeps saying "Grimlock", I used to make that mistake too. I don't think he realized the game is actually called Grimrock yet.

He mentions that like 5 minutes in to the video.

I enjoyed watching a little Legend of Grimrock, but I never got around to playing it for myself because I just couldn't find the time for it (it was never particularly high up my priority list games-wise).

Alex plays such a wonderful straight man to Vinny, it's a strong pairing.

Fuck me! My brain has been autofilling 'Grimlock' every single time I've looked at this game. It's been 'Grimrock' since the very beginning? Oh man.

Hahaha same thing happened to me. Grimrock does sound like a way cooler name, though.

Man, that has to be one of the best endings to a quick look.

This looks fantastic. The changes made from the first one seem to be a real improvement over a couple of the small issues I had with the first one, which I really liked. I'm definitely planning to pick this up when I finish off a couple of others that I'm playing right now. It seems like one I can really dig into when December gets here and I have some free time...

This game is better than the first one in literally every way. I had no idea this game even existed until it was two days from launch but holy shit -- I couldn't recommend this game enough.

The first one is one of my favorite games from recent years, and this is on track to be better in every way, Grimrock is awesome.

Anyone else finding the HD streaming of this video to be very blurry? Still shots look fine, but when he starts moving from square-to-square, it looks really bad.

Good quick look and the game looks fun but yeah, I also noticed this. It looked a little pixelated when they moved.

So far 5 hours into the game and it's been an enjoyable ride so far with the few frustrating deaths and head-scratching and ambiguous puzzles that I came to expect following the first game. The creators have done a great job to create something that expands on an already winning formula. Hopefully the game continues to keep its hooks on.

I love how many problems they could avoid by just reading the tooltips ^^

I beat the first LoG and was happy to see this announced the other week. I'm about ~4 hours in and it's great. Amazing value for money if you just consider the main campaign as the only content but it shipped with Steam Workshop support on day one which means access to hundreds of user made dungeons, islands, etc., to explore, some will be focussed on combat, some puzzles and some on story.

Awesome game with great variety; exploration, puzzles, combat, story, loot..

what resolution is did you record this in? don't you have a 780Ti?

The downloaded HD version of the video I just watched was good, no artifacting, 60fps. Must be an encoding setting affecting the lower quality versions?

Really liked the first one, so this was an instabuy for me. Playing it on and off between dota games and I'm really enjoying it.

Game looks neat. I loved the first one. Was hoping for a little more innovation (yes, I know this is a throwback) with this, such as assigning race and sex-appropriate death rattles. Having a minotaur and a female woman scream identically upon death is lame.

Unfortunately I already dumped my game budget on Lords of the Fallen, but I'll grab this after I finish that (6 hours after I start it, probably).
