Quick Look: Marvel Pinball

Did anyone else catch the "Tin Woodsman! I'm sending you back to Oz...In pieces!" line on the Wolverine table?  That line is totally from the first episode of the 90's X-Man animated series.

Looks great. I'm just bummed that PS3 owners are getting semi-shafted on this one. They clearly timed it so these tables could be released not too long after Pinball FX2 came out, taking advantage of all the new features and all. On the PS3, it's a separate game that, as far as I've heard so far, cannot integrate with Zen Pinball. Couldn't they have banged out a Zen Pinball 2 first, bringing feature parity across the systems? 

Question for anyone: I tried to play Pinball FX (the first one) before, and the controller lag was outrageous compared to pretty much any PC-based pinball game I ever played. No reviewers I can find ever mention that as an issue though, but ugh. It totally turned me off the whole thing.
 
Did anyone else notice this, and  if so, Is it any better in FX 2?

every time i hear marvel i think of big bang theory and how alot of marvel characters first and last name start with the same letter  and i am totally going to buy this when i have the money, thanks to blizzard and its wallet destroying WOW i am broke (server xfer, faction change, expansion)

I believe the Operator Menu, opposite to what's in FX (individually implemented, I think) Zen Pinball has the same features/options on all the tables. 
Unless this package sidesteps from that standard, of course.

I rather like the complexity of some of those. I like me some convoluted tables. I mean, Metroid Prime: Pinball is my favorite pinball game so far, and that's plenty convoluted. I also like the use of that rave song in the Blade table. Very clever.

The Iron Man and Wolverine tables look pretty weak.

Then he would sound like he did on the Wolverine board (which sounded just like Michael Jai White).

I wonder if the Wolverine table would have been better served as an X-men table, with the Sentinels and SEARCHING FOR MUTANTS bit.  Then again, I would have liked to see an Avengers table as well.    

I want Mysterio's head to become an extra ball.

Spiderman and blade tables look pretty fun. Iron man and wolverine ones dont look that interesting. Little bummed they cheaped out on the artwork for the blade table, but the mechanics underneath look really cool.

So is Pinball FX the new Game Room guys?

The font for the scores kinda makes me think of the font for damage in Borderlands. Now I want a Borderlands pinball table.

Why Blade? Why not Punisher?

The Blade table looks very interesting and a lot crazier than everything I've personally seen in a real or virtual table.

I really REALLY want to own a sweet pinball machine one day.

Wow, that Blade table looks pretty great. I tried Pinball FX 2 a little while ago but didn't like the tables much. Some of these Marvel ones look pretty decent though, I may jump back in.

Damnit!! I thought I'd be happy with just my Street Fighter II table, but this has proven that I'll need to go back.

I like what Flipnic did where they took advantage of being a game. The multiplayer was also really good. 

Instead of the weak looking Iron Man table I'd have preferred Marvel to put out a Deadpool themed table. Overall though these look decent & will be glad to add them to the pinballfx2 collection.

This made me go up the street and play a few rounds of Indiana Jones pinball at the arcade. That and Medieval Madness. Unfortunately, Adams Family was out of order. Slow work day...

What is the best, most accurate pinball, then? Where the ball feels right and it is the best? Although I think something crazier along the lines of Metroid Prime Pinball or Pinball Quest make it more interesting...

Poor Jeff having to give up to keep the quick look moving.  I was all for him going for the highest score he could get.
