The classic stuff was mostly all in there prior. Odin Sphere was a really sharp production and had a lot of amazing art and animation for it's time.

Game looks really good. I got real spoiled with the battle system in Muramasa and couldn't really go back to Odin Sphere after that. This will probably make me try it again.

I dropped Odin Sphere - precisely where Austin's save is, actually - because of how slow and deliberate the combat was and how tedious I found many of its systems. Cut to the reimagined portion of the quick look and, holy shit, does it look completely different and waaaaaaaaay better. I wanted to love Odin Sphere so much but just didn't like playing it. If I had a PS4, I'd definitely give it another shot here. It actually looks . . . fun.

This reimagining of this game is truly excellent and I can't recommend it enough.

I got my platinum in this game last night and have to say it's my favorite action jrpg yet.

I loved how beautiful this game when it first came out but just got bogged down in how boring the combat systems were. I want to give this a shot.

The combat feels so much smoother than the original and it's making replaying the game very worthwhile. I still have the habit of keeping bones and grape stems in my bag to toss at enemies.

Whatever happened to that schoolgirls-and-mechs game Vanillaware announced last year?

I think this came out later than when vinny is talking about, but man I remember seeing like an episode of this as a kid and never finding it again.

I've played through the Gwendolyn chapter of this remake and it is fantastic.

I want to point out that a lot of the worst cartoons considered as Hanna-Barbara in the cartoon retrospective segment (Turbo Teen, Mt. T, Police Academy) are actually by Ruby-Spears, which was a splinter offshoot of HB.

Fantastic game, just finished off the Platinum last night. You know a game is greatness when you can grow sheep from a seed, then cut them down for meat.

I remember it as being on Toonami a bunch back in the day, and yeah, probably after Vinny's time watching cartoons. I believe a company is working on putting it out on DVD, I know they put out the Japanese version but it's apparently different rights and stuff.

I found it funny that they mention Nolan North playing a role in a TV show but they didn't notice that he also voiced Fiery Mcabs.

@epidehl: I believe i saw it way before toonami(well at least before i had access to it) in like the mid 90's. I didn't get access to Cartoon network till I was out of highschool, so toonami for me was in the early/mid 2000's

Scooby Doo is fucking horrible. Also, all this talk of cartoons and the Batman Animated Series renassaince and no mention of Gargoyles? That series was great.

God I didn't even try Classic Mode again when I got this and my memory of Odin Sphere was that it was always as good as this 'Refined' Mode seems to be.

I'm so excited to try this again. Dropped it because of the boring combat, but had a blast with Dragon's Crown last year. I'm happy they made the effort to remaster the combat system, looks much better.

Actually the best thing you could do is save those junk, take a materia and mix one to make a Juggler, then dump all those things on the ground and toss the Juggler.
