Oh I'm early think of something relevant to say... well speaking of 90s throwback nostalgia I rewatched a couple of episodes of Biker Mice from Mars yesterday. That show is radical.

Had this game from some humble bundle or something. It's not offensively bad by any means, but honestly there's only so much you can do with lifting Mario 64 wholesale nowadays.

I'm not complaining because I love wrestling but this devolves into some wrestle talk.

If nothing else, Dan seems to be pretty good at leading the conversation into a total tangent during Quick Looks. It's actually a super useful skill when the game is completely straightforward and there's nothing to really say about it.

@engineno9: Yeah... I kinda burned out on Early Access after I basically barely played the full versions of Nuclear Throne and Darkest Dungeon, despite how good they turned out. But that's cool!

I agree with Dan, I'm alright with games like this getting made in the modern day. I thought I could skip the Steam release of Ty, but it has overwhelmingly positive reception... I'm pretty sure I rented it back in the day and forget everything about it. Is it that good?

This looks like a really good example of exactly what a Nintendo game WOULD be if they didn't polish the fuck out of their games. Mario 64 could have easily been just like this, and the N64 had plenty of games like Poi.

I like Billy Crystal he is one of the shockingly decent people that comes out of stardom. He has a lot of memorable rolls under his belt, but she seems to be so good at what he does that he has bounced form one sucess to another for decades.

One of my favorite films he started in was Mr Saturday Night. Its not his best know, it not his funniest roll, and its likely one nobody will bring up. But, I think it is a single film where he shows the most range because it is a tragic comedy.

@meauntienora: Well, I guess it depends on what you're looking for, but I think Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is definitely worth a look. They did a lot of work to turn it into really good update. But of course it is still very much in that style of older 3D Platformers so if you weren't a fan of those it won't convert you. It's nothing earth shattering, just a very good version of a solid game in an underrepresented genre.

Hahahah, Dan's insistence that he'd need to do his 'bit' is totally breaking a core rule of improv. The idea is generally to just respond realistically to the situation as it's been presented to you no matter how surreal, try not to guess what you're 'supposed' to do or force your idea on the other players (hence UCB's slogan, "Don't Think"). Watch Don't Think Twice! It's the best portrayal of improv in a movie, and it's a really good drama to boot.

@missashley: I have a feeling that they're in dev hell because of Yooka-Laylee being a thing.

Not sure about that but still. Maybe they're redoing things to update assets so it looks competeable.

1080P/60 lookin' SICK BRO

As a child of the 90's and lover of Mario and Banjo-Kazooie this game is right up my alley. Already bought it and really enjoying it so far. I hope there's a resurgence of these types of games because I really miss them.

Billy Crystal co-wrote My Giant after being inspired by Andre The Giant during their time filming Princess Bride. I was thinking about this the other day. I wondered what happen to Gheorghe Muresan. He had a shorter career in NBA than I thought he did. He played six season than retired due a back injury. If there ever was a reboot of My Giant, I wish Boban Marjanovic would get the title role.

Sorry but Dans whole wrestling "hand shake" thing might be the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard him say. I agree with Vinny's first thoughts on that.

This game looks like it makes the fatal mistake that nearly every single Mario 64 clone has made, a lazy bad camera.

The camera is so important in Mario 64, they even went so far as to call it out as a character in the game world and it's integrated into the level design at nearly every step. A lot of the Mario 64 levels were actually kind of like 2-D levels, but twisting one or another around or inside of something with the camera roughly on a track making things coherent.

All this talk about Billy Crystal reminded me of the 1997 film Father's Day which I totally forgot about for some reason (I liked that movie). So, thank you for that you guys =)

Edit: I wanted to add, too, I liked Billy Crystal's early stand up comedy as well as like... maybe half of the movies I've seen him in, but I feel like what ya'll said is very true. He's a product of his time and a lot of it doesn't hold up that well although he does have a few movies that I still like. For example When Harry Met Sally is still a really good movie.

What a great Quick Look for a fairly bad looking game. At least it seems like it plays like ass.

Maybe this will open the door to my dream, a remake/sequel to Poy Poy. Or my lesser dream, the boys playing the original on a UPF.
