As a huge fan of the first two Banjo games and still really liking Nuts n Bolts in makes me sad that the performance issues weren't hit upon in this, it really runs like shit on the Xbone I hope the official release of the backwards compatibility cleans it up because it is really awful when it comes to the framerate.

This video has made me go look and try to find a copy of Viva Pinata. Apparently you can't get it digitally you have to order a retail copy. Faced with that I think I'm just not going to play it. The idea of buying a retail physical copy of a game is almost frightening to me. I mean... a disk?! What am I going to do with a disk?! I dont even know if my disk drive works, or how to even open it! It brings up other questions - like - will I have to manually patch it?! Will I need to keep the disk in my computer to play it?!!? It's scary, and I don't feel okay with buying a retail game.

If anyone knows how to get it digitally, pm me pls :p

I found myself comparing Call of Duty 2 to Perfect Dark zero...They came out the same year, and I don't know, I feel like, compared with its contempories, Perfect Dark might really have been trash, but I might also be wrong. 2005 is kinda late... I mean 2007 is COD4 and Bioshock. It might just be, the waiting for the "nextgen" to drop you know, like games on the cusp of being last gen but slightly shiny to being a proper step up.

I know Half Life 2 is 2004, but it seems just totally unfair to compare that to Perfect Dark Zero.

Other than that, really enjoyed the two rare videos :3

The menu selection sound in Perfect Dark sounds very similar to the Steam message notification sound.

PDZ was conceived as an N64 game under Nintendo, that then became an Xbox game in early-middle of dev, that then was pushed to became a 360 game. It had a long and troubled development, apparently.

(Oh, and also a lot of the shooter team left partway through, not counting the other groups that left at the MS acquisition).

Damn they must have changed the controls in Banjo Kazooie for this. On the Xbox 360 version the camera rotates smoothly. That's a big reason I play that 360 version as apposed to just running it on the Project64 emulator.

What's the story behind "Wallguy"? I tried a google search on it but nothing obvious came up. Is it because he looks painted onto the wall or something? and the internet being what it is was up in arms about it?

Perfect Dark Zero looks like a fake game they'd have on CSI or something like that. I think it has something to do with how smooth the camera movement looks.

I think it's just because it looked like a mess compared to what HL2 released a year previous looked like, and so on. If you google for wallguy you will find old Neogaf threads from 2005 as like the first hits, you can read the peoples opinions of that time there. It's an interesting time capsule.

Viva Pinata does still look really good. Might look into firing the ol' Xbox 360 back up.
