Game looks great and you can tell a ton of work went into it, but I think asking £12 on the UK Steam store is a bit steep, especially since you just know this is gonna go on sale for next to nothing soon enough. They don't just refence old games ... one of the first missions is a reference to the intro scene of the Batman Dark Knight movie complete with a henchman killing school bus there's Doctor who , Back to the future , Inception... I think they broke a record.

was there a Doctor Who reference that early? Do you mean when Player first goes back in time? If so, thats a Bill & Ted reference, not Doctor Who (although it could be a double reference, who knows!)

Hmm I don't know what Bill & Ted is so I just asumed it was Doctor Who since it involved the phone booth thing.

I was born 1990 and I'm not familiar with some stuff in American media... so in my eyes Matrix made Keanu Reaves :P

As soon as I heard it was for pc I bought it and instantly started playing. Damn this is good.

I wish I'd been a part of the SNES gaming era so I could appreciate more of the references.

I must be stupid because I spent about 10 minutes going through the menus looking for the one to enable my 360 controller, found nothing and used my keyboard. Google doesn't seem to know how to change it either.

@courage_wolf: Make sure your controller is plugged in. Then go into the controls menu and choose "select game controller". Highlight your 360 controller on the list and then press the shift key to start the configuration process. You can look at the recommended keys they say on the screen or use your own.

I'm not going to lie, this game is like playing a self aware version of every video game I grew up with, in a modern package. There was even a fucking Duck Tails reference. ha! Well, its 4:30 am and I can't stop playing this piece of 8-bit crack!

This QL has pretty much sold me on this game, and maybe even re-installing GTA 1 & 2 !

I love the Doc Louis [Punch Out] in bottom corner.

This reminds me of the Game Boy Color GTA game.

Which is pratically unplayable. I had that "pleasure" at a retro gaming night a few weeks ago and I was about to hurl the Gameboy at a wall once I realized how you are supposed to steer the guy. Jesus christ … I honestly thought it was a bootleg.

I have to agree. Looks like there's no real substance aside from references. And yeah, just making references isn't funny in and of itself. DNF tried that, and it failed there too.

So this is basically every video game ever in one game. I have to say, it looks pretty rad.

Neighborhoods named after Vancouver! Hooray!

Although none of them seem to be "plays" off of them except for Westbend. Maybe I couldn't see them clearly enough to get the references.
