Quick Look: RISK: Factions

fucking sold. I loooove risk, but never have the patients to set everything up.

This looks effin' rad.

Of all the board to console games conversions, this is probably the best match for it. 
 
It doesn't quite capture the sense of impromptu role playing that goes on (the insane amount of investment in one defender situations, the fear that radiates from your cat worshiping, communist army) but it comes damn close to it.

This was a fantastic Quick Look. Very funny and sold me on the game.

I lost a game of Risk in 5 minutes once. It's a gift.

12 minutes in, I'm just gonna say it. RISK: Factions endurance run.

This is the first time Australia has been a good thing for video games.

Damn, I do love The Risk. It's  torturously  overlong, and for the most part mind-numbingly nonstrategic, but somehow the feeling of dropping a bucketful of rectangles on Siam never gets old.
 
One thing I've noticed is that whenever the subject of Risk comes up, it seems there's always someone eager to recommend Settlers of Catan as the superior game. Haven't tried it though. Are there any e-game recreations of Catan that do it justice, which are perhaps superior to Risk: Factions?

I'm so pumped this is out. I completely forgot about it.

I don't think I'm smart enough to play this.  I'm 11 minutes in and I have no idea what the hell is going on.

I'm pretty sure this games attacks are based on dice rolls.

Used to be you'd have to buy the VHS version of a board game to get a tutorial that exhaustive.

Love the art style but there's something that scares me about the amount of time I'd probably need to invest in a Risk game to get my money's worth out of it.

Love the art and effects. I mean the one cat had a cute lil pink backpack.
And it died in a war, that's funny.

I love board games, but Risk I just won't do. Like others said, the luck is prevalent and it drives me crazy. The game looks well put together though. I imagine those who enjoy Risk will have a ball with this game.

This game looks legit. Ryan's tactics are less legit. Still fun to watch!

Can we start an effective online petition to have Ryan Davis replace General Petraeus as head of the war in Afghanistan?  Clearly he has the strategic brilliance to win a war within the time confines of a single quick look.
