Loved the first one, and this looks like it fixes the lack of content and variety that it had. Glad to see it's still fresh after all this time.

Liked the first one quite a bit, and in general really respect the stuff Ace Team does, even if not all of it is something I totally enjoy. Will definitely get this at some point. Thanks for the quick look!

You don't need mines (they were in the first game). You can get gold from wrecking enemy emplacements. It's why you should break enemy traps when possible.

Also if you break a trap nothing can be placed in that spot again. That way you can't keep placing traps in annoying spots.

Can't help you with the whales though. They are jerks.

But what does Alex think of Wales?

Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever seen Oslo used as a game stage. That's some blatant Norwaysniping, I appreciate it.

I liked the first Rock of Ages, but my enthusiasm fizzled out after a while. Like Alex says, it's very much "The first to get a hit wins" almost all of the time, so if you fall behind it's hard to have en enthusiasm for the race. Dan did a great job here for the most part though, shame about missing the door.

Did everyone's ear's spontaneously fall off right after he said "I hate whales"? That's the only reason I can think of why y'all seem to have not heard his immediate "I don't REALLY hate whales" follow-up. :b

The first RoA was nifty but it's gimmick seemed to wear thin too quickly for me. This iteration might have a little more longevity, though!

The game is actually $15

The more your boulder is damaged, the less damage you do.

This game seems super enjoyable. I like this games style a lot so I will probably pick it up.

The damage you do is based on the speed of your boulder when you hit the door, but it's not too tough to get up to max speed shortly before the door. But it's also determined by the health of your boulder which drops every time you fall off the course or take hits from canons explosives etc. The more damaged the rock, the less damage you do to the door. Explosives are good at doing damage as a defense if they run into them, but they are also sort of a one shot use defense.

I loved the first game.

Any game that gets classical music, of all things, stuck in my head, is alright by me.

Also, good on Dan for spotting the level was a Dali theme.

Can someone clarify a mechanic for me? It looks like after a trap was destroyed by each other it left a grey zone underneath that when hovered over could be sold. Would doing that allow them to rebuild on the same area and/or get a unit back? Or is it you have 15 whales to place during this battle make them count.

These games are just so different from everything else out there. It's far from perfect but I always have a good time playing them.

The style still looks great, but the gameplay hasn't really evolved much from the first game. Still, the music seems excellent.

Smashing obstacles and such gives you money. The banks aren't the only way to get that.

Silliest thing I've seen him in since Tooth Fairy.

First game was rock solid, and by the looks of it this game is a real gem.

I can get behind this game and it's wackiness. The music from the head to head match-up was from Beethoven's Symphony No.7, just in case anybody cares (it drove me crazy trying to place it).

Pro-tip: the less you destory to the point the more crap you have to put up with and risk dying later
