Quick Look: Saints Row IV

I must be crazy but I feel like I am getting completely acceptable performance on the PS3. Maybe the digital download version runs a little better?

Slight drops when you are burning through the city but no hitches like I saw in this video and overall runs way better than SR3 digital download version.

I'm about 5 hours into the 360 version, and I've only had one particularly bad framerate instance. For the most part it's fine, doesn't run as well as PC obviously, and it stutters a bit occasionally, but I've had no trouble landing jumps or making headshots. I feel like some reviewers have been a little harsh on the console versions. Makes sense, it would seem awful going from high-end PC to console, but it isn't that bad.

Looked it up in SR3 & the female 1 voice isn't Jennifer Hale but it's damn close in a lot of spots plus in SR3 she has some pretty funny moments. Haven't tried SR4 yet but will definitely run through the game with her on one gameplay to hear it as it's been pretty good choice in the voices.

@stoffinator I have the PS3 version and so far (i estimate i'm about 40-50% in the game) i haven't had many issues. A few hiccups here or there but nothing that made me want to turn off the game.

@dannik: Yea I am at the end of it. Got the game on Thursday. It has a few bugs but nothing major. Runs pretty decent.

Saints Row is not good.

Holy shit. I just watched this after beating it on the PS3, and the PC version IS FUCKING AMAZING! The frame rate was so ridiculously silky smooth. If I saw how good the PC version ran and then I played a console version, I would've been extremely disappointed. Glad I didn't watch this quick look before beating it.

I am super jealous of all the PC owners out there. I wish I had a proper gaming PC but buying a powerful computer costs way too much money!

They run it on a high end PC though. Mine is mid-tier and I run the game at ~50fps and it dips to 30-40 when sprinting and a lot of stuff is going on. It's not the constant smooth 60 they have.

Still, the 360 and PS3 versions mostly run around 23-24. Sometimes dip below 20's. Playable, but I found it playing a lot better on my mid-tier PC.

I think the game is a lot of fun, but it is definitely a Saints Row game. If you want a game with fun and impactful powers I'd recommend Prototype 2. That does that stuff a lot better.

I played through the whole game without realising it was always night.

Also, I have been playing on PS3 and multiple times I've had it hard lock on an autosave.
