The worst part of the game is definitely the community. It's either constant bickering about other MMOs or just plain bigotry. Anyone who actually tries to use the chat for a useful purpose like finding a group or asking a question is either ridiculed or drowned out by people making 4chan jokes. Thankfully I found a nice dude yesterday - we quested for a bit and he invited me to his guild. Romantic. I then quickly learned how to filter area chat and life since has been demonstrably better.

The chat was hilarious.

Dude yes, this totally seems like 4chan the MMO.

In the guild wars 2 beta, 4chan had named a server for their guild which everyone promptly declared a no-go for character creation, so there are definitely a lot people out there who don't want that kind of community experience.

I do hope they quick look guild wars 2 at some point. There's at least a few answers to Vinny and Brad's general MMO questions that it answers in meaningful ways.

Aspects of this game are... disturbing, to say the least.

Tera area chat is the worst. It's PVE content is mostly quest hub to quest hub like any other MMO. The main story stuff is disjointed and kind of random. Tera's combat is actually pretty awesome and feels more like an action game at later levels, more hit box oriented than dice roll. It makes PVP and GVG stuff more interesting. If you aren't in it for PVP type aspects I don't think Tera has much to offer past it's nice graphics.

Also does anyone on GB even play this?

Are you honestly saying that a pre-adolescent/adolescent child is ready for sex? Especially in order to raise children? They are definitely not psychologically/physically prepared to do it. Hell, I'd say most people from early adulthood to late 20s aren't probably ready to raise children either.

Also, world population has nothing to do with people giving birth at a young age. Humans are expanding faster than ever and the average age for the first child birth is raising.

I don't play these games..I really do not have regard for them as such, almost like they are made for another breed of player. If I needed something to do, and liked looking at skimpy dressed ladies or sexed up children, furries or such, it would be okay. I like ladies, but I am not okay w/the rest.

I thought that one Korean MMO with the near beautiful Elven ladies looked nice

Based on this QL, it doesn't seem that this game brings anything particularly unique to the table. The combat looks like the same kind of fake direct control used in DC Universe.

The "little girl" race didn't seem to be as big of a deal as people have been making it out to be. They don't appear to be quite as heavily sexualized as the other female characters in the game - though how much of that is due to changes made to the US version, I don't know. What is perhaps more disturbing is the reaction to their presence from the gaming community at large. I would like to think that the characters are considered inappropriate due to the dubious decision to include and infantilized race in a game which has such an overtly sexual aesthetic treatment. Instead, it seems that the argument is about pedophilia or sexy children or some other tangentially related issue stemming from the conflict between our real-world social repression and the permissive "lulzy" nature of the internet. I wouldn't want my daughters involved with the people on either end of the Elin debate, both sides seem to spend a great deal of time considering sex with children.

@Rexicon: So, is the warrior in this game not the tank that we know? Brad said he plays it more as a DPS. Are the Lancers more of the tanks in this game?

The female quest givers pretty clearly had some DOA breast physics going on there, like a Jell-O mould in an earthquake.

Anyway, game itself seems a little bland from that snapshot. Graphics look nice, though I wonder how well Unreal engine visuals will hold up when you've got 40+ people on screen at once.

As much as I adore GB, I think they should stop quick looking MMOs and Fighting Games. They spread too much misinformation and end up doing more harm than good.
