EDIT: I'm really glad they kept the loading screens from the first game where Jackie talks about different things instead of the generic loading screens from the demo.

Jenny scenes are the most interesting thing in this game.

Really a shame The Darkness 1 was not played by many who will play this.

I wish Angelus and Witchblade would make a big story part in the Darkness games,maybe next - gen...

Not impressed as I knew I wouldn't be.

The best part of the first game was the story and human characters thrown to the demons. Cell shading makes this look like a typical FPS video game. You can't sell serious moments with cartoons.

Somehow I bet you don't get the opportunity to sit on the couch, chill out and just watch an entire movie.

Yeah, I'm with you. Cel-shading, or whichever method this engine is using, is the antithesis of modern FPS. If you're going to dislike something, than feel free, but at least try to come up with a half-decent reason.

Because it makes it look like a video game. Not to mention all the arcade-style bonuses popping up which are rote now.

Jeez, did nobody here play the first game? It was a dark, moody, violent game with attempts at character depth in a story-based world. Not an arcade points-fest with cartoony graphics.

This looks like it plays a lot better than the first game. I really wanted to like The Darkness because it did a lot of cool things, but I could never finish it because I got so god damn frustrated with how it controlled. This looks great though.

I really like the art style. There should be some games that really make big on the convert-a-comic-book-into-a-game thing. You could do more than just the art style. Comic jumper did it a bit but a big 3D adventure would be interesting.

Also "you bowled him out for a duck" is a cricket reference - it means getting some out without them having scored any runs.

Why is it that video games with italian main characters always make them mobsters? Why can't this game be about, say, the Cake Boss? :)

Game looks frickin' sweet, btw. I'm pleasantly surprised Digital Extremes went for "comic shading" here. Even more surprised it worked out well. The Lighting engine is pretty bad though; if you ask me, EVERYWHERE seemed too bright to use the darkness. The last game made it clearer, but then again, it looked more blandly realistic. At any rate, it looks like Top Cow's involvement means more good character moments and another strong involvement. Those guys should work with video game developers on adaptations more often - can Digital Extremes team up with them to do a Witchblade, or Cyberforce, game next?

EDIT: Man, A.I. is so shit in video games:) The enemies in Uncharted piss me off in particular ("This plane is exploding! Let's not stop shooting this one guy though!"), but they're REALLY bad here. As soon as one of your buddies gets "wishboned", you turn the fuck around and leave. I don't care who you are! When will developers start coding self-aware enemies?

Not to mention there was an emotional moment at the end of the quick look and yes, it was okay, even with a cartoony art-style, so yeah, again, nonsense.

Did not enjoy how the first Darkness played, and this doesn't look much different to me. I hope those who pick it up enjoy it, but today my choice was Kingdom of Amalur.

Plague Dogs is incredible. I was gutted by the whole story, and that ending--cried my eyes out. Remembering it is having the same effect.

Normally I hate reboots and remakes, but I would be glad to see Plague Dogs re-released in some form. My buddy has it on VHS.

This actually looks very interesting, gameplay as well as plot. I wonder if it's going to be worth all the damn hassle the fucking censorship will make me deal with if I want to get it, since they will no doubt mutilate the living shit out of the localized version. Should the game use Steam's crappy DRM it might unfortunately be completely impossible to get it legally and uncut. I'll at least have to get some more details on that issue.
