so what's up with that darkling thing? where does it come from?

The first one looked like shit, so much so that I didn't feel like playing it. This one looks acceptable.

The art in this game is incredible. I liked the first game quite a bit so it's likely I'll check this one out too.

Now I have to play the original Darkness so I can play this.

Certainly interesting. The quiet moments seem to be the real draw. The demo was fun, maybe i'll pick this up a little later.

Sure, wasn't the prettiest looking game on the shelf. But what it lacked in looks it sure made up for with great storytelling and atmosphere. Judging from this quick look, I get the direct opposite from this one, which is a really bad sign for me. There are tons of good looking games out there, can't say the same for games with impressive storytelling. And don't give me that crap "Yes there are, those are called movies." As Vinny was saying in the QL, in the first game you really came to care for what happened to characters, and it had some really emotional and impactful scenes, a lot of them without you having to pull a trigger. If the dance scene is this games equivalent to the cozy couch scene from The Darkness, that is major setback, a huge disappointment. Its evident that it looks a lot better, but the important question is if it can keep pace with the things that made it's predecessor so special. Otherwise, I'll just go play Battlefield again.

As for the gameplay, I like how violent it looks. Seems to move a bit faster too.

Don't like the art style, looks... cheap and tacky.

The E3 videos and everything else looked really terrible and I don't care one bit for the excessive and stupid violence but the story part seems kinda cool?

That's gonna be a bargain bin game for me at some point.

Absolutely adored the first game but when I heard Starbreeze were not onboard for the sequel I was pretty worried.

I have to say that the more I see of this game, particularly the story elements, the more excited I become. Loving the look also.

So, if you don't press X can you dance with her infinitely or until the song ends?

This sold me on The Darkness II: Never played the first one, but I think I'll dig this. Genuinely excited.

All modern games have skill points and ability trees, don't they? Watching this somehow made me realize that Mega Man was the first shooter with those mechanics. You get one skill point per boss, and the saves you the trouble of picking which weapon to unlock! Right...?

Anywy, this looks neat. Sad to see it wasn't developed by my fellow Swedes this time, but it looks like it turned out a good game anyway!

I really need to go play the first one before this.

Gonna wait for the price to drop, but this looks really cool.

Less than two minutes in, and I've already been treated to a nice Scent of a Woman reference, AND the glorious return of Vinny's Tony Danza impression.

This game looks pretty good. I'll probably play through the first one first, though.

I enjoyed watching this game far more than I was expecting. They really seem to be doing right by the original. Good for them. :)

After recently finished playing The Darkness, which was last night to be honest, I have to say that I'm ready for more. So, I'm going to buy this game this summer. The graphics look very comic-book like, but beautiful at the same time. Also, the combat looks much more violent, and gory than the first game. At the same time, it also looks story-driven, and it's nice to see the characters who lived in the first game, have come back.

Finally, it's Ryan's enthusiasm on how much he enjoyed this game convinces me that this game will be fun to play.

Finally got around to this one & found it quite enjoyable except for the damn lights with indestructible metal cages over them. Between the story & the up to 4 player co-op Vendetta mode, it's highly recommended, been definitely a favorite for this year.
