Quick Look: Throwback: Indigo Prophecy

It's not long enough to a endurance run but DO IT! The story in this game is bonkers both in a good way and the WTF way........ Not that it matters now but the two thumb sticks are used for the dual color wheels that showed up.
 

As others have said, it's an extremely interesting game for the first half or so. I'm really curios to see how Heavy Rain will turn out. Also, speaking of adventure games on XBOX Originals on XBL, I really recommend Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

Anywho, I would probably like this more if not for all the QTE stuff. I mean, some QTE's are okay if placed in certain spots or throughout the game, but for each conversation? I don't think I could handle that. Looked fun though.
 
Heavy Rain seems less QTE-y (well, except for like, fights and things, I think). I doubt I'll get it, but it does look nice.

I've always been really interested in Indigo Prophecy but not never got around to it. This Quick Look only further piques that interest.

I'm liking these more unusual QLs you guys have been doing since the new release flood has slowed down.

Love all the Quick Looks. I don't care if the game is old, new, great, or crappy, QLs (along with the bombcast) are why I like this site so much.

I really liked this game despite its obvious problems. It's nice that they are doing this Quick Look.

I just played this game on Monday specifically because of this Quick Look and the Heavy Rain preview. I got about 5 minutes past where you control Carla and her partner, then I got stupidly frustrated because as Lucas, I hid the knife in the trash and I wanted Carla to find it so she gets the credit, but I made her partner do it because I was fucking around and I think her partner is an ASS so I quit. I will definitely load this back up and try to finish it between other games. I remember it seeming fascinating when 1UP FM did their Backlog of it(remember that anyone? fucking awesome), but I just recently found a PC copy in my mess of older games. To be honest, once you've played through the two scenes in the diner, you can say you've played Indigo Prophecy from what I've heard. It gets ABSURD and crazy at the end with that little girl, and the gameplay gets really frustrating, but it's an interesting game. Endurance Run it! But do not for the love of god play it on PC because the controls are so annoynig to get used to.

Also...the tutorial is hilarious and David Cage totally lends his voice and likeness to it.
Also, also...Farenheit is signifigantly better because of the sex scene.

The beginning to middle sections of the game are very slow and the most interesting in terms of what you can do and the story. After that you choices become much more limited in what you can do and you're lead down more of a path and the story just becomes ridiculous with stupid plot twist. At the start you question why you did what you did and it's much more like a murder mystery but in the end it's like a surreal sci fi movie. The game has its flaws no doubt but I enjoyed it regardless because it had a lot of unique ideas and the choices you made had an impact on the game. There is a funny choice that Ryan missed out in the Quick Look where you can take the tablets for your head(next to your bed) then drink some alcohol or something and you die.

This game was so good until Lucas started running along walls and started throwing girly punches in the air.

Too bad the ending of this game is a big, messy mix of various common conspiracy theories. Seriously they threw everthing in there and nothing works.

I played a demo that I got with some xbox magazine back in the day and kept getting stuck. With the preview article for Heavy Rain renewing my interest, i think i will pick this up again. 
 
As for Heavy Rain....I might be tempted to get a PS3.

This game actually looks very interesting, but from what I understand, the story goes off the deep end with a bunch of supernatural nonsense that ruins it.

It's cool that Angelo Badalamenti did the music for this.  He's the dude that does most of David Lynch's films.  I think I might get this on XBLive one of these days.  Anyone know who's doing the music for Heavy Rain?

such a classic. Played through it a bunch of times. Only problem is the last part of the game is skipped and feels a bit rushed

I recall enjoying this game, but I can't recall story specifics.  Some non-sense about being a chosen one this and some matrix-like action that.

Ironic that you would make that comment on this vid as the game was originally meant to be episodic and there's a huge chunk missing in the middle that was cut due to time constraints. "

Wow, this is awesome. I can't wait for Heavy Rain, and I've been considering finding a copy of Indigo Prophecy to prep myself. 
 
2010: Year of the PS3.

Indigo Prophecy was a pretty fantastic game.

I love this game to death, but, It definitely requires a specific mindset to play. Very niche kind of title.

The only thing I remember doing in this game is leaving some fat kid to die in the burning warehouse.  Loved it.  The entire game?  Ehh, it was okay.

I've almost bought this game about 5 times now. I think I will eventually now. Looks great.

Loved this game back in the day! Great story, even though it got WACKY as it went on.
