Quick Look: Throwback: Indigo Prophecy

I remember discovering the game (Fahrenheit here) thanks to an Atari demo disc I received in the mail. Without this, I probably would have missed out on a great, mysterious game. You really feel captured into the game's story. It's been sometime since I've played but I remember it well. I remember playing during winter and it was really cold here too like in the game.
 
I played on PlayStation 2 and my only major complain was the graphics. Not sure if they are much different on other platforms but regardless a very great game of the last-gen, which probably has been missed by many.

Fahrenheit was one of my favourite games back in the day. But yeah, that last third/quarter of the game wasn't particularly great.

Looks pretty good, I don't know how I missed this one. Don't know how many times you could play through this kind of game, but if it's like 20 hours long than it could be worth it just for the ride.

So yeah...I played the PAL version of this game after watching this quick look.. Played it from start to finish in one night, and I totally regret it now. I really hated it, the story goes into such dumb places, and sex scene in the PAL versions is so random and unnecessary.

I don't understand how people could finish a game they don't enjoy playing. You all had to like it somewhat to finish it... unless everybody who has is just a masochist or has some kinda gaming OCD or something.

Indigo Prophecy was great. it was very innovative even with the flaws. can't wait to play Heavy Rain!

I just marathon-ed this game. Overall, it was great experience. The ending was kinda wtf, but the beginning was very interesting and intriguing. If heavy rain says there not going with anything supernatural, I'm really looking forward to that game.

The opening section in the diner is one of my favourite moments in gaming, though I agree the game kind of falls apart towards the end. Shame.

I never played the game, I actually just watched a bunch of youtube videos of the whole thing.  As everyone else has said, it has potential in the beginning but quickly runs off the rails.

I loved adventure games in the day, but Indigo Prophecy was a complete disaster. Not just the pretentious "New Movie" crap in the menu, either. The writing was melodramatic. It was fine for the first half, then the game went completely off the rails in the last half. Let's just say I don't have a lot of faith in Quantic Dream to actually create a coherent story in a game.
 
And the quicktimes were idiotic then, just as they mostly are now.

Remember this game fondly, despite that truly weird ending which made no sense whatsoever.  
 
Plus that intro music still gets me going. 

It looks like a complete disaster, to me.

Indigo Prophecy is a great game for its time. I loved it. I didn't even strange the crazy ending. Not that crazy for me.

I really loved this game, but then about halfway to 2/3 of the way in the story just got SO BAD. I really can't make myself want to finish it now.

The first third of this game is really great and the other 2/3 are TERRIBLE. Such a shame. Do not reccommend.

I say you guys keep playing!  Like through the entire game, I dunno, one half hour to hour quick look once a week until the game comes out or something...

The great thing about HYPE is that it goes both ways. I read so much negativity (somehow without reading specific spoilers) about this game that I was expecting it to bottom out in a horrible way. And you know what? When the story actually went wonky, it wonked rather tamely. People are making this game out to be much worse than it actually is.
 
I cannot wait for Heavy Rain after playing this game. Before this I had little interest.

After he gets matrix powers this game becomes so fucking dumb, it's like the devs suddenly wanted a different game.
 

Hated this game when it came out. Never understood the appeal of it myself.

Man, Indigo Prophecy brings me BACK. This generation needs more weird, arty games like this that are kind of rough around the edges but have a unique appeal in their strange setting and quirky characters.. oh wait....

After finishing Heavy Rain, I really want to play this.

The fact that this game goes really strange half way through really put me off. Worth trying out though to see where Heavy Rain came from

Heavy Rain kind of got boring for me. This actually looks a bit more fun, what with the dead people and stuff.
