I love that there doing a play-through of this...at least I hope they are. I've played through all the 4 campaigns of this and deeply love this game so much. I just have to say the amount of times Abby missed with the incendiary rounds is comically hilarious. The incendiaries are the only limited resource she has to make sure each shot counts (to an extent) and she blew through a vast majority of it without breaking a sweat. Also for the love of god, Abby, please remove the boards and ruby from your inventory and put them into your stash box...you don't need them! Look I get it...she's new and she's going into this blind, but my gawd some parts were painful to watch. Either way keep it up, make this into a full play-through series!!!

Despite Dan's naysaying, Resident Evil 0 is just as good as the remake of 1. It's more of the same. People just have nostalgia for 1 and rate it higher.

When you put "tasty new friends" in the description, that makes me think of tofu.

Given that both REmake and RE0 are almost 17-years-old, I feel like we'd have some more nostalgia for the latter if it was actually as good as the former. Even as someone willing to put Zero above the likes of Code Veronica, I still think it's one of the weaker entries in the series. The Umbrella Training Facility area that comprises most of the run-time is pretty dull, and the game itself never really takes advantage of its two playable characters or status as a prequel.

I had ZERO nostalgia for either game, and I feel confident in saying that RE:0 is just a bad, uninteresting game. It's not just about the mechanics, although they annoyed the shit out of me with the constant character switching, but it's also about just the narrative appeal. Sure the RE story is dumb as shit, but the mansion is a good ass location and the train just didn't grab me. And that's a big part of it, IMO.

@arbitrarywater: Except it was beloved because of it being an RE1 remake so nostalgia was definitely in play. The problem is 0 was all new (at the time) and didn't have that nostalgia to carry people through the 'RE bullshit' as Vinny put it.

Please keep going! I really enjoy Abby's enthusiasm for RE2 and how genuinely freaked out everyone gets while playing. The best is certainly yet to come.... Fantastic game, and I'm partial to Claire's arc anyway.

She (and Mike Mahardy) started with REmake back in 2016, and have done most of the mainline games in the time since - and yes, they are working their way through RE2make.

This was the most fun I've had with a stream in a long time. Abby's reactions to the Licker are priceless. I really hope y'all continue on with the game!

I just played through Zero again to refresh my memory of it, and I don't think I agree. I think the partner system is bad, it removes some tension and adds more tedium with inventory management and co-op puzzles. Having a smaller inventory with the ability to leave items anywhere instead of an item box increases the amount of backtracking you have to do. The story is possibly the worst in the series, it doesn't even feel complete and it complicates things more than it answers any questions that needed answers. The camera angles aren't as good, it's almost always a close shot of your character, instead of a shot of the room you're in. Maybe they thought the character models looked good and had to be the focus, but you pretty much never get a wide shot of any room for the entire game, so the thing people hate where you have to shoot at enemies that are off-screen is basically every room with zombies past the train.

These two videos have been so much fun. Please continue playing through it!

Abby I totally recommend trying RE4 after this one. It controls mostly the same and is one of the best games of all time. It does have plenty of puzzles and the story is a lot of fun.

It's basically on every platform except Switch which is supposed to come out sometime this year but the PS4, Xbox One and PC HD versions run at 60 frames per second. I would love to watch that.

Also I don't know if I can wait a whole week for episode 3! Been so much fun already.

@vinny ahh damn, not your fault since they don't make any of this obvious but picking Chris in the REmake gives you extra bullshit. Chris has 2 fewer inventory slots and has to deal with a bunch of small keys (Jill has the lock pick) and other tedious puzzle elements that Jill does not have to. Jill also starts with a gun but Chris can take a bit more damage.

For your own sanity if it's not too late. I've probably played REmake 15 times as Jill and twice as Chris haha. Jill's just a better character to boot. You could probably breeze through a lot of what you've already done too.

Glad to hear the GB Crew is enjoying RE games as a whole though! I'm really enjoying watching @ybbaaabby play through this!
