Watching this looks super awesome...also all I want is for Jan to do a Pokemon Nuzlocke

Regardless of if this game is good or not I hope it inspires Nintendo to do more with actual Pokemon.

This game looks like its doing a ton of cool shit but TemTems remind me so much of all the Fakemon Ive seen in rom hacks over the years I dunno if I can get passed that.

Not really crazy about the way this game looks like its balanced either. That is entirely too many status effects and hearing that its more grindy is off putting.

I'm not like a pokemon fan or anything but these names do not pack the punch that one should expect from a game with stakes as high as children collecting monsters and partying on surf boards in waveless oceans

Is there an option to adjust the camera in the overworld to be less top-down?

I think I'd rather just play pokemon? This seems simultaneously way too on-the-nose but also very inelegant with the things they have bolted on to differentiate it from pokemon.

Honestly after watching this, this game looks like a step towards a pokemon-like game I'd actually enjoy playing. Kinda wish it wasn't a MMO though. I'll keep my eye on it.

This looks neat, though I'm a bit hot and cold on the presentation. There are some nice designs and use of color but sometimes it also looks kinda bland.

Either way I'm open to the idea of playing a more punishing, Pokemon-style rpg so if the full releases on consoles turn out well then I'll definitely get it.

I'm interested in someone else trying to really do Pokemon given how stagnant the series has been, but this definitely looks like it could use some work. Will be fun to see after it develops more.

Maybe its completely different when actually playing, but this seems lifeless to me. Like, there's no charm, there's nothing happening.

Huh, wow. This actually looks really good. I don't really play Pokemon nor will I play this, but I definitely appreciate how much has gone into this.

It doesn't just feel like a rip off or fan made. This feels like it'll actually offer something on the scale of pokemon and beyond. Lot of cool shit. Especially for those that don't have a Nintendo system.

Also, I really like their equivalent of pokeballs. Those holographic card type things look wicked. And well animated.

How can anyone like a game with animations like this? The Pokémon Temtem don't even touch each other! /s

This might be fun. Compared to Pokémon, the quality of life adjustments look nice, and the stamina-based move system could be a game changer. I'm not sold on the world, though. What's the point of having a massively multiplayer game in this genre if its going to stick to the same rudimentary environmental design? As it is, it just looks like a bunch of single-player instances layered atop one another. The world doesn't look built for many people.

There are a lot of people looking for a Pokemon alternative it seems like. Makes me wonder if Ni No Kuni & Folklore were marketed the wrong way. Like Ni No Kuni was mostly getting buzz from it's Studio Ghibli look, but i don't think they really emphesized that it was a game where you gather creatures to fight for you.
