Unfinished: Armello 08/06/2015

This game looks pretty interesting, I really dig the art style.

Between this and Submerged, it's a good week for Australia on Giant Bomb.

Been checking in on this on and off since it was announced (that artwork is amazing), can't wait to see how it plays.

Is it just me, or is there something about the pronunciation of "prestige" in this video?

Oh wow I completely forgot about this game since I first saw the announcement trailer. Thanks for bringing this to my attention again! Seems perfect for the iPad whenever I've got long bus rides ahead of me.

Video board games are not generally my bag but this looks kind of incredible I may have to check this out.

I went into this expecting some kind of emotional artsy game that totally doesn't click for me. I did not expect to be marking the release date on my calendar. This looks pretty awesome.

@relkin: you could read Redwall, then you have effectively read every single Brian Jaques book.

Or I managed to pick the four or five that all had the exact same plot.

While this actually looks pretty damn neat, I'm always cynical about games (board or video) that rely a lot on luck.

I went from knowing nothing about this to dreading the date being so far away. Looks like a great game and the multiple ways to win are a nice touch.

Yeah, definitely wanna see more video board games with this level of fidelity/interactivity (Twilight Struggle, the "top rated" game on boardgames.com is trying to get theirs going). Bonus points for those that manage to integrate a Jackbox Games web based controller for local play.

@aku88: It doesn't look like a coop game. It could be run as a competitive 4-way game with 2 players from each coast just fine.

This looks excellent. Definitely looking forward to playing this!

Redwall: The Game?

Man, this is definitely a game that I would never play myself, but would love to watch a group of streamers play. That ending was some tense shit; I thought the underdog Sana was gonna take it for a moment, there.

Ar"mello" has fucking marshmallow in it.

Armello is marshmallow, caramel, with a graham cracker cookie in it, covered in milk chocolate sorta like a smores Twix.

Absolutely LOVE this game, I've had it since the start of Early Access and just think its fantastic.

A few notes as I was watching:

• In earlier versions, killing someone who was holding a Spirit Stone would steal it, but no longer does
• When you are given the quest to enter the palace, it clears the Peril from that specific tile
• You can play cards on yourself and anyone other than the turn player at any time (including other people's turns)
• Each character tends to specialize in a deck, except for Amber as she is more all-around. Sana's great Spirit score make her good for the magic deck, Thane does well with lots of equipment, but Mercurio doesn't actually have an easier time with the Trickery deck and generally wants Equipment and Trickery.
• The board layout is randomly generated each game
• Its generally not wise to go for the special item during a quest unless you have a 7 or higher in that stat (anything lower just tends to fail in my experience)
• There is a LOT of bullshit RNG in this game that can be kinda infuriating. The last 3 times I played with friends I was poised to win and got screwed over by a bad dice roll or someone else miraculously pulling the win out at the last second.

Overall, extremely fun game and definitely worth it if you have some friends who enjoy it.
