I think I've heard the duders talk about this game on the Bombcast previously and it sounded pretty cool. Just hearing Alex talk about the design process of this game, I think I'm sold. It really does look like one of those rare games where a developer just puts fun above everything else and pulls it off.

@infidel1990: I noticed that. I was like "Let Jeff ask his question!" - Oh well, they got their money's worth. Jeff tried to wrap it up 3 different times.

So is the Burnout 3 ascetic on purpose or......? Cause the "Smash Nav" is straight from Burnout, font and all.

Did you watch the quick look at all? Jeff and the devs mention that multiple times and how they made Burnout in the past.

Game looks neat but a little sparse, hopefully it comes out at a good price.

Should've just made the crash mode from Burnout in its own separate little new IP. Looks like a 99 cent iPhone game.

This looks pretty cool. It was an interesting QL, but I think it may have been more entertaining watching Jeff and Dan do some matches instead of the devs. I do understand why they presented it this way, though. I'll check this out.

This looks potentially interesting as a big fan of the Burnout team and crash mode, but something about the way it was presented in this video almost made it look like a fake game someone would be playing in the background of a movie or TV show: you press a button, a bunch of stuff explodes and random score bonuses pop up on the screen, and then the ball kinda automatically goes in the hole or something?

I can understand why you'd want to show off the destruction by having an experienced player demo the game, but it made everything look so effortless that it didn't even look like it was a game.

And just a side note as someone that also likes real golf games, they're really not that complicated.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this game - it might not have enough structure for me - but I liked the devs so much, and was so enamored with how they've decided to structure their business, that I'll probably check it out anyway.

I mean, not that getting me to buy video games is much of a hard sell or anything, but still. Dudes seem pretty cool.

The small bursts of gameplay followed by a fair amount of loading and menu screens seems kind of off putting.
I know it's unfinished, but I guess I wish the stages were longer?

I also expected this to be more of a game, just breaking things doesn't seem very fun.

I honestly don't get it. Maybe if the environments were really dynamic, with people going about their business and then reacting to the chaos you create in cool ways that feed back into the destruction, but this just seems like a pretty rigid bodies demo.

I'm sure it feels great the first few times you cause those statues to fall to pieces, but...

I feel sorry for these devs if they bet their life saving on this game. I really think they should go back and reiterate until they come up with something more compelling.

It looks like a pretty decent physics tech demo. Like I am not sure what they are going for but in these times something like this seems a bit limited in scope?

1) They should have hired someone who had skill in UI design as one of their three fields.

2) This game is physics-based like Taco Bell is Mexican based.

Could they not just make an unliscensed crash mode? This looks fun for 4.99. Also wish Dan and Jeff were allowed to talk

This.

I get it that they're trying to evoke the Burnout style, but that's some ugly early-PS2-era UI going on there.

Also, the bump map of the golf ball is inside out, the ball should have dimples but based on the lightning it looks like it has bumps.

Anyway, this feels like it's a game that would be fun for a bit and get boring quickly, like a tech demo or a good idea that wasn't developed enough to become something interesting.

The guys didn't sound all that exited about the game. I am in the minority because I love golf. Links, Tiger Woods, Hot Shots, Mario Golf, Tee Off etc. Love playing real golf too. I suck at it but it's weird, no matter how much pain and anguish you face from playing a really bad round, you forget about it. And there in lies the hook. It's kind of like having a baby. When you watch what a woman goes through while birthing one, it makes me wonder why the hell would you want to go through that again. Yet they do. Sorry back to the game. Doesn't look like there is much to it. $9.99 should be the price but $19.99 - $24.99 will more than likely be the price. Maybe trying to catch the Rocket League sort of magic again.

@chaser324: As a cynical guess, its easier to provide this footage to try and prove the 'breadth' of their title to try and counter that its probably fairly thin.

I loved Crash Junctions in Burnout 3 but more-so as a palate after some racing. I'd be interested to see how Crash! did for EA when they tried it as a stand alone.

One thing which this is lacking compared to the Junctions is a sense of progression to the level, there was an aspect of timing/pacing to how the traffic flowed while these areas are all super static even if debris is persistent.
