Well when you think about it does anyone really know what a game costs?

I cant get into these 'do anything to survive / craft' type games. Maybe it's my limited amount of time I have to play games but I always feel I best spend what time I get saving the world or something :-)

Can you play this without the weird horror alien things? I'd like to just try and survive until rescue was dispatched for the plane crash. High production values, but as with other Early Access games I can wait until it's a full-fledged product.

Brad has a good history of planes falling apart in video games.

I think they just recently patched in a peaceful mode, so I think you can.

The thing putting me off this game so far is how quickly the hunger metre depletes. Brad was fairly hungry, ate something until it was over half way and then soon after, it was almost empty again. That just doesn't seem very fun to me, which is why I find the Sims annoying a lot of the time.

Dan does actually have prior experience doing a series of videos that are somewhat similar in format to a Quick Look. He had a series where he and his dad would play games. I REALLY wanna check this game out, but I think I'll still wait for the official release before I throw any money on it...or maybe a sale.

That plus the only currency I work in is souls, and nobody ever does the conversion.

Yeah, considering they seem to have a much slower day/night cycle than many other games in there, probably closer to Day Z's real time cycle, it gets much more noticeable when you have to eat several times a day not to starve to death, rather than maybe starting getting detrimental effects after a few days of not eating, and starving to death first after a few weeks of in-game time.

I can't tell if I want this game or not.

On the one hand, I don't like the notion of surviving by myself with no end in sight. That's what turned me off of Don't Starve.

On the other, the horror elements of being watched and taken hostage by some kinda freaky people is exactly the kind of mystery I want in a game like this.

I suppose I'll wait.

@amyggen: yeah not knowing about this before i thought it was a rust sort of impenetrable no holds barred multi thing. im totally fascinated by those but at the same time know ill never hold my own in one. this ill check out eventually, but there's just waaaay too much stuff i have to play right now (poor me huh)

i really like the idea of being hunted with no real way to fight back iin a game, but also knowing it's a game kinda ruins it and i think ill stopped being scared and start being more annoyed after the first few deaths.

Been playing the game a bit and it's in a very early stage where I find bugs to ruin most things - plus the gathering can be a little much..

There's still time and I hope to see more mechanics and bug fixed as there is certainly potential - but until then I think I'll find something else to play..

Hoping it was just because Brad had shit weapons and not that those dudes take that much damage, that would get super annoying. Do the body part stuff ward them off or just fuel your serial killer tendencies?

The amount of food you need to intake seems like it would become a chore. Having to stop every ten minutes build a fire cook then a rabbit, doesn't sound fun. But survival games aren't really my thing anyway.

Brad should just fork over for a new monitor. He's been complaining about his current one for what feels like two years. When reviewing games, it probably helps to have a nice screen to judge them with. I'm sure it would be a good investment. In a horribly hyperbolic example it would be like someone using on old off brand CRT to review Metro 2033 and complaining how bad it looks or that the UI is way too small.
