I wish I could listen to these, but I haven't watched any of the stuff they're discussing. Still, I'm glad this is a thing. I always enjoyed listening to Alex and Rorie talk about movies on The Whiskey Happy Hour.

fear is a choice, but only when the truth of it is seen. if not, it can allow for ignorance or destruction.

so it's my understanding that season 4 of game of thrones will be the second half of book 3. book 4 and 5 occur concurrently, so the following seasons will be combining the books and filming the events chronologically.

dunno how they're gonna split it all, if they'll have season 5 be the first quarter of book 4 and 5 and then season 6 be the second quarter, etc. I read that not as much happens in book 4 and 5, so who knows.

With Game of Thrones, the first hour after the last episode I was furious, sad, and confused. I really had to sleep on it before I really come to terms with it. I hope those people boycotting GoT were just acting on a gut reaction. If it happened in the book, it's inevitable that it happened in the show.

Ima slap you rorie, Pacific Rim as Alex says looks just badass, pulls your classy cap off and get into it, the giant robot fucking rocket punches the monster in the trailer for fuck's sake, anyone who isn't into that ain't no friend of mine!

FWIW, I think the chapter in the book that the latest episode of Game of Thrones covers was more upsetting because

If they cared that much, of course they will be back. People said they were done with the show when Ned Stark died too.

And as someone who has read the books, the dying isn't done yet. :D

God damn, I haven't watched this season of Game of Thrones yet, I can't listen to this. I like watching TV shows entire seasons at a time.

Isn't that so cool, that a scene so horrific and unexpected can actually make people genuinely angry at a show. Show's how good that show really is, to bring out real emotions like that.

I'm am only speaking for myself, but I am skeptical if you can take the story of a book and translate it into a series while still keeping it interesting. I know mine if an unpopular opinion, but I'm not moved by books the way I am by actual people acting really well.

Killing off main characters in a book is never really an issue for me, because other characters can fill their purpose in some way or another. But in a series, those characters are gone. I was attached to their voice, their movements, their expressions, their appearance... all that stuff is absent in books which makes it easier for me to 'deal with it'.

What I think I might not like is not that the characters I like are getting killed off. If that suits the story, then it's fine. But the series still continues. I worry that I might start disliking the series at some point, because it might become uninteresting to me.

If all I get to see now if more scenes of Sansa and Joffrey, I will be very disappointed and honestly, kind of bored. They'll have to introduce new characters, which is very tough to do and pull it off to have me care about them.

I'm not complaining yet. Just skeptical if they can pull it off. I guess it is possible, because Grey Worm was only recently introduced, but I think he's the reason the word 'boss' was invented.
