Crazy thought for y'all: people can live their whole lives not consuming the pop culture you did. It doesn't matter how big or universal you think it is. Learn to celebrate when someone gets to experience something for the first time instead of shaming them for not having heard of it and you'll make a lot more friends.

It's funny to me that Alex accuses the others for not doing the objectives, when the first objective was completed by Vinny and Abby and the second one was completed by Vinny and Brad and all Alex did was push the button that was only activate because the others DID do the objectives lol

Damn, I didn't realize it was so short! I got to the Oak Tree explosion when I decided to take a break, sad to see there's not much more story stuff to pursue, but I might kick the tires on the crafting system a bit.

Fun stream! Love the cross coast content. The grumpiness-to-adversity ratio seems like 5% high but the spiders especially seem pretty rough and the UI not all that intuitive. Feels like there has to be some way to fend off the spiders, maybe torches or something (I say, having no idea at all). When the game is released/fleshed out I hope they come back to check it out. I wonder if developers intended for players to try and get more armor before venturing as far as the crew did. Not sure how you encourage that, maybe a loading screen tip or a tutorial popup.

@chazzi27: Kicking the tires on the basic systems is what this preview build is for. It seems like a perfectly competent survival game with good presentation and some really neat ideas.

As someone with pretty severe arachnophobia, I'm really disappointed that you guys didn't let that anti spider setting turned off. I can't watch these videos now.

I decided to watch this one as Vinny has everyone else's perspectives up. It was played on the same stream slot after Sea Beasts. But if you prefer a "cleaner" look at the game without the overlay go for Brad's - the Unfinished.

This isn't bad advice but part of it I think is also a understanding of time thing with Abby. Abby hasn't seen all the big touchstone stuff in part because she's simply younger. So when you hear that it's kind of a gut punch. Is for me at least talking to younger people and I'm only 30.

A bit sad that you guys checked out of the game. It's Early Access, so of course they don't put in a ton of story (maybe one or two more bits would have been good). But the systems and the ecosystem ARE the game, so it's a bit of a shame that you guys aren't digging into it just a bit more. There IS a ton of content, it's just not story content. But I'm only saying that because I think this was a fun stream and it'd be cool to see you guys explore it a bit more.

Also to be fair, that "gut punch" a person feels? That's that person's problem. Not Abby's or whoever didn't watch/read/play whatever.

I absolutely understand why Abby doesn't know who Rick Moranis is, hell I don't know many people my age that do, but it still makes me sad, especially given how much the rest of the crew mention him (even in passing).

@eccentrix: Probably because a friendship can be based on something else than 2 people liking the exact same things and get eachother's jokes all the time. And it's fun to introduce a friend to something that you love and they have never been in contact with.
