I tried playing mgs2 a few months ago for the first time and couldn't make hide nor hair of how to control the damn thing. and it was on super easy. It seems just as frustrating if not more so than anything on here. Dan needs to channel Solid Scanlon patience

This is where the game crosses the Rubicon into actually being badly designed.

The checkpointing is a bad joke, but that whole "hop over the visible wires" part seems like it's either a glitch or, if intentional, looks indistinguishable from a glitch.

Also slowing down the dialog to read it won't make it any better. This game's writing is running into the problem of trying to sound like someone else's writing.

How did Dan discover the wreckage of the original Metal Gear and not want to talk to everyone on his codec about it :(

I don't know why people say this Metal Gear isn't cannon. This one is the most cannon.

At 1:39:30, you can clearly see this Metal Gear has two cannons, one on each arm. That's more cannon than any other Metal Gear up to that point.

I feel like everyone else in the studio is jumping all over Dan at any sign he shows of frustration. This actively hurts the cause, really, as it only adds another hurdle and more pressure for Dan: beat this tough fight! Also, don't show any irritation during this tough fight, or we'll get on your case about it! I understand wanting to curb excessive frustration, but you gotta let folks emote to some extent at vidya games.

@dan_citi: depending on how much you read into the VR portion of Ghost Babel, it may very well be canon.

But even if it is canon, it's metal gear, things get retconned all the time.

Ghost Babel has the co-writer from MGS1-3, AC!D 1(some of it, and the MGS4 cemetery),Tomokazu Fukushima. Fukushima left Konami during pre-production of MGS4. He later worked on Freedom Wars for the PSP and The Tomorrow Children.

The fight with Viper doesn't seem all that bad, even before the tip but that fight at the end does look infuriating. Trying to figure all of that out with a shitty re-spawn is just bad.

Man, I've never seen Dan this angry. And all this brought on from a Metal Gear game. What a thing.

This is the best Metal Gear game. Dan is just awful at it. Zero patience, and no desire to actually try to learn anything. Seems like he just wants Metal Gear to be a stroll playing game. That he can skip the story on.

They should have save stated after that LONG speech. I'd be 100% ok with that as long it as was JUST to skip that extra time wasted. They were on the retron after all.

Man who played MGS1 a thouzand times doesn't realize rations work the same as they did there :P You select them in the menu, you use them in the menu.
