    Overview

    No Caption Provided

Sonic Drift is a third-person kart racing game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Game Gear exclusively in Japan on March 18, 1994.

A spin-off of the Sonic the Hedgehog series (and a spiritual successor to the 1988 arcade game Power Drift), Sonic Drift pits the titular hedgehog and his friends and enemies in kart racing tournaments located throughout the six stages from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The game later received a worldwide sequel with more characters and new locales.

The game was later included as a hidden mini-game in the 2003 game Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut (the first time it was available in other regions), in the 2004 compilation Sonic Mega Collection Plus, and in the 2005 compilation Sonic Gems Collection (as a limited "demo").

    Gameplay

Sonic Drift had six tracks and three different tournaments, offering 18 levels in total.
