Jesus.
See now I'm incredible dissapointed in SEGA. No...thats rage. I'm fucking pissed at SEGA.
Also: That whale must be fucking rich. You know he gets like 20 cents every time someone buys a Sonic game.

It's alright. The whale coming out at the end was bananas.
For a sonic fan made game? It's actually pretty good.
But i still prefer Sonic 4.
Sonic 4 goes for the nostalgia factor from the Genesis era.
This Sonic fan made game tries to make it as "next-gen" as possible by having sparks fly out, explosions and other shit. The graphic feels too cluttered and the contrast of the game makes the enemies camoflauge so well that i often get hit literally out of nowhere. ESPECIALLY when im helpless in going into a freaking spring.
"Sonic 4 goes for the nostalgia factor from the Genesis era."Too bad Sega half-assed it and made the controls feel totally wrong and their slow animations suck. These guys on the other hand were able to basically recreate the exact gameplay of Sonic 2, Sega wasn't.
I have to say that does look rather impressive, but Sonic just isn't for me.
As a kid I loved Sonic, but its like Jeff said, looking back on it now even those original games just doesn't hold up for me.
I'm still very impressed that a bunch of fans made that. Good for them.
Okay yeah, Sonic is a bit slow off the bat." @PantyshotMQN said:

" @CptBedlam said:The art style is debatable, yes. But while it may be a little but too much, it looks way more interesting than Sonic 4. And I say it again: Sega messed up the controls and animations in Sonic 4 which is why it just doesn't feel like a Sonic game to me. This on the other hand does. These guys just showed Sega how Sonic should handle and move in a 2(.5)D remake.Okay yeah, Sonic is a bit slow off the bat. But Sonic 4... i dunno, it felt natural to me. You should've seen my buds jaw drop when they saw me play this game like i spedrun that shit. ...It was also my first time playing the game.Sonic 4 is not perfect, hell, its not even passable Sonic game to some. But it clicked with me and it did'nt feel slow to me at all. I guess after watching the Quick Look here at the site, i saw a glimpse of how NOT to play the game. Careful and slow. Instead i went balls out with speed and actually pulling off some great reflexive maneuvers. ... then again, this is just me. Again, not saying this fan game is bad, it just has some TERRIBLY UN-NEEDED qualities. Retro Sonic is supposed to be simple, colorful and clean. Not try to emulate Unreal 3 with explosions n stuff. Although i will admit, Robotnik in the background hovering around was pretty awesome. "" @PantyshotMQN said:

Yeah, the art seems pretty busy. Regardless, it also seems like they tried to add depth to the world that Sonic inhabits...as well as to the enemies he fights. The whale, the Death Egg, everything they've got going on in there has some great context to it.
However, it's less about the art and more about the general feel of the game. Watching the playthrough of that demo, that LOOKED like a Sonic game. The demo itself has tight and responsive controls the way that Sonic is SUPPOSED to be. Sonic 4, while I haven't played it but watched a TON of gameplay playthroughs, does not look like that at all.
SEGA should hire these two dudes. Seriously. If Sonic was in the hands of Valve, you know that's what they'd do.
This guys should be offered Jobs at Capcom and do Strider Rearmed! They know how to handle fast games!
How long will it take Sega to sue / cease & desist them?
