I would go Bounty Hunter or Smuggler, then move on to some dude  with a lightsaber

Probably a Jedi Consular. I love me my pair of goody two shoes and I do enjoy having some healing spells at my command.

normally i like to play the rogue-like classes... but normally they are melee classes... so i'm not too sure about bounty hunter/smuggler

I picked trooper although I would also like to check out bounty hunter, jedi knight, smuggler, and sith warrior. I hope Guild Wars 2 and this game don't come out too close to one another :/

Bounty Hunter. 

Councelor because i like casting spells and healing people.  Besides, a true Jedi knows how to draw power from the Force and doesn't rely solely on their lightsaber.

I want to be the big damn hero tank so I'll probably pick the jedi knight and spec into the guardian later. However, the gameplay vid they showed earlier had the trooper as the main tank so I might be the trooper and spec into the vanguard later.

A Sith/Jedi healer, because I want to be a Jedi/Sith, and everybody like most MMOs is going to ignore the healer class, so I'll be in demand, and also be a Sith/Jedi.

I'll obviously want to try out all of them eventually but I think my first character is going to be a Han Solo.

Will try out every class obviously. Either healer or tank WITHOUT a light saber. What ever is better for grouping. Usually I go for the more hybrid classes (like druids and paladins in WoW). Sadly, in SWTOR they seem to be quite clear cut. Maybe the smuggler/agent will have some very unique abilities like the Warden in DAoC.

I'm gonna check out smuggler and bounty hunter, then try out all the force classes.  The only ones I'm not interested in are the trooper and agent classes.

If I was going to play it, I guess Bounty Hunter...although I hear it shoehorns you as the "bad" guy, which is dumb...

Sith Inquisitor on day one! I imagine that will be the Healer class for the Empire.
 
Also very interested in playing a female Trooper because she is voiced by Jennifer Hale...as I seem to remember. Any one else remember hearing that a while back?

I am very happy that Smuggler is the current leader.

Wouldn't it be great if you could be a droid?  We've had many droid companions but never a main character.  A whole new class, a whole new playable experience.  Start as a maintenance droid caught in a battle and go from there.  Upgrade components and even assemble an all droid mercenary team.  Alas, maybe as an expansion later.

Sith needs an equivalent of the Trooper (grunt) class and Alliance needs an equivalent of the Imperial Agent (spy) class.  The Trooper classes should have 4 AI soldiers following them around the whole time.

I play RPGs as characters as similar to me as possible.  If I were living in the Star Wars universe (barring being born with Force powers), I'd probably wind up a Trooper, so that's what I'll play as first.  Yes, I'm a gigantic nerd that thinks too much about these things.

I  cant understand why anyone would dive into the star wars universe wielding anything but a lightsaber, you can shoot lame guns everywhere else people... come on. 
Although I would probably play all of them I voted Consular.
