Recenlty on the boards you may have noticed that I rant about my lack of decision of my main fighter. From what I heard these new characters are going to be mostly SFIII fighters. Who should I play as now if I want to whhich to maybe Ibuki or Dudley.

Help me Street Fighter III players! Help me!
In 3rd Strike, Dudley and Makoto are a lot of fun.
But no one knows exactly how they will translate to SSFIV.
" In 3rd Strike, Dudley and Makoto are a lot of fun. But no one knows exactly how they will translate to SSFIV. "This is true, in the latest dev blog they say that they tried to keep ikubi in tack I assume it would be the same. Watch some old 3s stuff and see if any of them grab you.
As someone who added most of the SF3 chars to the database...*scoff*
They all feel completely different. In fact, SF3 was very polarizing in that in felt so different from other Street Fighters, and some of this had to do with the characters themselves (just my opinion).
Dudley is fast and powerful. Pretty balanced, plays a bit like Vanessa from the KOF games. Highly combo-able.
Makoto hits HARD. Her big thing was how quickly she could stun you. I have to wonder how much that carries over in this one. She's a bit slow, but her supers in 3 hit fast. This will be interesting in 4, since supers don't play nearly the part they did in back then with ultras and all. She's a bit high-risk, high-reward.
Ibuki is basically the super fast, not too damaging character. She had a few moves that did good damage, but most of them were a bit telegraphed. Some people were amazing with her, but I only played her for fun...she kinda escaped me, to be completely honest.
Again, I'm not a pro player or anything, but these are my impressions of the characters having played SF3 for years.

From what the devs were saying when they talked about Ibuki, they're keeping her playstyle similar to how it was in 3's. They're giving her a super jump (like C.Vipers) and plenty of target combos that she can use after Kasumi Gake. Sounds like they had to change the mechanics of that somewhat as she was initially wrecking the opponent as soon as she got close to them...
Here's the dev's discussion from their blog translated --
