Also I feel like I'm being railroaded into more pinball, and you don't need to add a surface qualifier to hockey. We all know which one is the good one.
If I were Jeffy B and/or G, I'd get Grubb and Voidburger to prerecord segments to drop into the Bombcast if they can't make it to the regular recordings. It feels like it's time to reconsider what the bombcast is, because I don't think it's four or five friends talking about video games anymore.
I would love more scripted shows discussing videos games like Hot Takeouts. I'd also love to see more embracing of racing games by collaborating with Racing game youtubers, perhaps a racing league just (e.g. shambles championship with Raycevick and others). I also forgot to add a couple possible collabs: Jacob Geller and Nerdslayer.
I think one thing that could help Giantbomb is more discussions on older obscure or less popular games, I'm loving Guilty Treasures and would love some focus away of just what's hot this week. I'm a person who spends most of the year playing games from years ago that I missed and would love to see more attention from the staff and collaborators as I think it would help bring a passion that sometimes isn't there on a brand new game that just brings middling interest. I know that wouldn't work with the podcast since it's the news so perhaps an old games podcast or video series/playdate.
One of my favorite things about Gb is when Jeff just talks about his history in the industry and the stories that come from that, so for me Jar time, Game tapes are among the shows I hope make a return especially Game Tapes. Though I acknowledge that the lack of the Gamespot video archive to pull B-roll from is a road block, I personally wouldn't mind every couple of months the crew going over an old press conference. The Konami e3 one is one I hope gets done in the future.
@thedigitalistic: Not even that, alot of the questions are jokey and some of the answers are straight up mean spirited and most of the actual questions are things they should already have metrics on.
For me, the new shows have been mostly bad, I like Grubb snacks, Hot Takes, and Guilty Treasures. I wised I liked the very online show, but it is not for me.
This is 100% a survey designed to push an agenda and give people the illusion that things could improve.
I agree 100%. I only watch two of the new shows, one because I like Dan, and the other because it's good background noise. I don't feel that my subscription money is going to anything I enjoy at this point.
I've been an on and off premium subscriber for years now. I think what I'm really missing from the bombcast at the moment is consistency. There have been a number of games that have came out that I've been wanting launch day content that haven't had quick looks for days or weeks after launch.
The bombcast really struggles to keep my attention anymore as I feel that the format is too tightly adhered too some sections can feel rushed where as some section can feel bloated. I think that as much as I've enjoyed the format over the last however many years. I think changing it up a bit would be a great idea.
GB is still a threat but it's feeling more and more like they are getting left behind to the modern video game content world. I think for video content id like to just see more one off videos rather that making every type of video into a series. Id like to see more video content on news & topics discussed within the bombcast.
