Although he is a descendant of the hero Nagi, for most of the game, he is not a good swordsman; in fact, his personal sword, despite the impressive-sounding name he gives it, is carved out of wood. Whenever his skills are required, Susano either neglects his duties or doesn't have the strength to face the task. However, at those times, Amaterasu uses her painting skills to make it look like he was the one who completed the task. Although others are fooled, and Susano gladly takes credit for these actions, it is eventually revealed that he is fully aware that he is not really the one performing these great deeds, and, not knowing the truth about Ammy, believes that his sword is possessed by demons who wish to curse him.
