Street fighter games use 6 attack buttons, a light medium and heavy punch and kick. Now did capcom decide that in order to merde the different universes together (morrigan being from Dark Stalker and another one from Rival Schools ect.. it would be best to go for a 3 attack button setup and one support button set up so that no button would be left unused for a character.

Like every body else i was skeptic since it could mean that the game play would be simplified (in the case of street fighter each character first having 6 attacks now having only 3) however i could not be anymore wrong. Tatsunoko VS capcom actually keeps all the attacks from the Street fighter characters while adding tons of crazyness over it.

This actually took me a couple of days to figure out. At first i thought i  what attack (kick or punch) would be used was random, then i thought it was depending the combo but now i know what it really is and its really smart.

The way you let the game know what standard attack you want to do you have to do a direction + attack type.
In the case of ryu to do  a low heavy puch attack (the well known uppercut that sends opponements flying) you have to do down foreward attack and to do the low heavy kick you do down back heavy .

I'll go and edit the wiki about the differnet mechanics and the controls not to short from now.

Tatsunoku VS capcom is really a great game that every fighter fan should have.
