Hatred of or discrimination of, magic and those who practice it. A common element in darker works of Sword and Sorcery Fantasy settings, though real-life witch hunts also repeatedly occurred throughout history out of a fear of witchcraft.
Dwarves are a short, stout race that appear in any number of fantasy games and stories. They are almost always depicted as short with bushy beards similar to vikings. They can also be identified by their love for ale and gold. Other common trends for Fantasy Dwarves include being proud warriors, favoring axes as their weapon of choice, and being gruff sticklers for tradition and honor.
Elves are a race found in a lot of games based on a fantasy setting. They are recognizable by their elongated ears and often live much longer than humans. Some are even immortal. There are many variations of Elves.
People of a different race or skin color, that are chastised and frowned upon for being different in culture or appearance.
Humans are bipedal, sapient primates capable of abstract reasoning, language, and emotions.
The concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods, breaking the fundamental laws of science.
A weighty real-world issue that some games comment on, often through allegory. Unfortunately, other games can offend players in their depiction of different ethnicities, whether intentionally or not, thus becoming part of the issue themselves.
A gathering of people who believe in the same higher power(s), and follow the rules laid out by the mortals chosen to be their prophets. Video games generally try to shy away from negatively portraying real religions to avoid controversy, however they make ample use of fictional in-game religions.

A militant knightly order who answer to the Chantry, tasked with "monitoring" Mages and hunting down those who refuse to do as the Chantry says.
Many Circles of Magi exist in the world of Dragon Age. Throughout the continent of Thedas, any country under The Chantry of Light's power will feature a Circle. Mages are kept under lock and key for the duration of their lives.
War is a series of organized conflicts carried on by force of arms between two or more nations or groups. Whether it never changes or has already changed is up for debate.
