I am not a fan. The combat seems quite bland from what I can tell although it was kinda cool to feel like part of a big assault on a castle. Graphically, it looks ok at best but with a shoddy frame-rate, and let me say the demo locked up on me not once but twice! The voice acting was pretty bad if not humorous thanks to the pretty poor writing. I guess the best thing was the combat and that's not sayin much, on top of that a demo that locks up is a poor representation of any product. Anyway, I've read this is at a discounted price so who knows, maybe it was just the section of the game or it will justify its price tag. What have you guys thought of the demo?
The Cursed Crusade
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Oct 25, 2011
Two Crusaders fight armies of enemies in order to free their souls of a sinister curse in this action game from Kylotonn.
Demo is out. What do you think?
I didn't like it. Combat was dull and the controls felt pretty clunky. The voice acting is hilariously bad.
I was expecting some quick fluid combat where i could attack more than one enemy at once and with Arkham Asylum style counters instead the combat is so slow and boring. You can only attack an enemy at a time and you can't quickly switch between weapons as you fight. Also the game looks mediocre. I understand it's a budget game but the fire effects and textures look Last Gen. The Demo also constrains you with frequent cutscenes when it should be showing off the gameplay. I was really disappointed, I've been hoping for a good medieval game for so long, sadly this sn't it.
DON'T buy this game.
Seems fine to me. I didn't have frame rate issues and the combat feels weighty. I actually liked the feel of the slow combat since the character is clad in armor, but i didn't like the crossbow portions. Also, yes, the voice acting is bad but, I can deal with it especially after playing the Battlestations series and loving the game despite its voice acting.

is this another eastern european game made for 360/pc like The First Templar?
The developer is from Paris.
I wasn't that impressed with it. You nailed it though; poor graphics, bland combat, and terrible voice acting. Is this game cashing in on Demon's Souls popularity? To me they seem comparable and it is coming from Atlus who is Souls less with Namco Bandai publishing Dark Souls.
I get the feeling that the developers would call the combat "Timing based" because to get the big powerful combos, you have to hit the buttons at the right parts of the animations. The secret though is that all you have to do is mash the X button (on the 360) until the enemy's head pops off. Where it all falls apart for me though is the control. Whenever the camera goes to a cinematic view, like if it goes to a side shot rather than a strict over the shoulder, the controls have no idea what's going on. You can hold the stick up and be going left no problem. Not a good showing.
I didn't have any performance issues like locking up. The combat seemed dull, or maybe I wasn't doing it right. I just couldn't get any combos to look fast or feel responsive. That
part was pretty cool, but I don't think that can sustain the game. I did like how equipment degrades over time, but I couldn't tell if there was a difference between using one sword versus another. Regardless, it didn't blow me away. Probably not even worth a rental.

That was the first crusade.... I think.
Also the demo was pretty terrible.
