Capcom just announced a collection of six games for the pc, ps4 and xbox one:

It comes with Ducktales 1 & 2, TaleSpin,Darkwing Duck and Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers 1 & 2. They aren't remastered as it seems (I don't know why they wouldn't include Duck Tales Remastered) but it does include a time attack mode and a boss rush mode.

So what do you folks think? I really liked the Duck Tales games, I've never played Chip N' Dale 2 or TaleSpin. For 20 bucks it might be okay ^_^ even if it is a bit expensive.

That said, I have fond memories of Duck Tales and Chip 'n Dale, even though I only ever played those on my friend's NES. I could maybe grab this from a sale, just to hear that sweet original Moon theme from Ducktales.

Also, in thinking about Disney games just now, it occurred to me that Epic Mickey was seven years ago this November and we're all speeding toward the grave holy shit I swear I was commenting on the pre-release concept art for that game on Kotaku just a couple of years ago...

About the only game in that collection I care about is the original DuckTales, but 20 bucks for six games with some ROM save features and a museum isn't too bad. It reminds of the Mega Man collection that the Beast crew is using for Blue Bombin'... hey... maybe that's the next thing they can do after Alex finishes Mega Man-ing.

Kinda bummed no Aladdin though, but just glad this exists at all.

I am so excited for this. I am loving Frank Cifaldi getting involved with Digital Eclipse and putting out these lovingly crafted collections. The museum features alone make it worth it.

This is pretty cool. I'm just about too young to have grown up with these games so I guess there's never been a better time to check them out.

Also, I originally thought this topic was going to be about the TV block of programming that I did grow up on, and now I'm a little bummed.

This is a great surprise. I saw the news yesterday and was hoping that the compilation is being developed by the people behind Mega Man Legacy Collection. A few hours later Frank Cifaldi tweeted that's indeed the case! Duck Tales 2 is crazy expensive nowadays, so it's nice to have a way to play it legally without wasting a small fortune on it. Darkwing Duck isn't cheap either.

I'm actually really happy about this. I loved all of these games, but my favorite is probably Rescue Rangers. I think I spent enough money on renting that game to actually buy it outright two or three times over. The first levels of it are pretty much ingrained in my DNA at this point.

I wish we could get all kinds of new releases of old games, not just for consoles but old PC stuff, Commodore 64, really everything that is hard to come by (and expensive) with people going game collecting crazy these past few years. I would buy a lot of older games just so I could have them and play them on new systems or my PC.

@theht: oh my god, Cold Shadow was basically my childhood playing on the pc. Who knows if the actually a good game or not but fuck I would buy it now in a heartbeat. I still remember that ducking Organ level, such a pain in the ass as a child.

I never played these games or saw the shows but you say Capcom and I'm there.

I had a Master System, so unless SEGA, hires them to take a shot, I'm probably not gonna get a chance to play the Disney games of my youth.
