If it's not on the console and the gameplay differs from Skyrim etc (IE, not some B.S. WoW replica and actually first person adventure!) then I do not want. Be the first developer to make a MMO on the console and do it well, and you will go down in legend.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Game » consists of 6 releases. Released Apr 04, 2014
An MMORPG set in the world of Nirn, focusing on the familiar continent of Tamriel, taking place a thousand years before The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
The Elder Scrolls Online Will Finally Bring The Elder Scrolls Online
MMO's suck! Played WoW with some friends for month or so. Had fun until the 2nd week when they left and I realized how boring MMO's are. No I do not want to collect 10 pumpkins with a 10% drop rate!

MMO's are usually poor man rpgs, so really not too sure how this 1 will pan out
Face mother fucking palm.

Considering every MMO ever has more stats/char customization than any big "RPG" released in the last few years I'm gonna disagree.
STORIZ AND DIALOG CHOICES WITH THE ILLUSION OF CHOICE = RPGEEEZ OH MY GOWDZ

Have you all see the screenshots yet? lol, it looks like a generic Ever Quest knock off.
Doesnt even look like TES...thanks bethesda. For fucking up one of the greatest series ever. They better not ruin TES:VI

haha rage much, i'm sure WOW is amazing still..........
I'm not looking forward to this as much as anyone else, but let's keep the blame away from Bethesda Game Studios as this isn't their project.
ZeniMax Online Studios is developing this game, another subsidiary development studio of ZeniMax Media. Since ZeniMax Media owns the IP for the Elder Scrolls, they can do whatever they want with it. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the core team at Bethesda Game Studios wasn't thrilled by the prospect of this game either. If they were, I am sure Todd Howard would have a larger role than just a "lore consultant" through the development process.
Doesn't seem like a very good choice. I like the idea of being able to explore all of Tamriel, but I fear this will lack the focus which the previous games brought...

Good point. While it's a shame that they're doing the one thing with the ip I'm sure no one really asked for, that makes me feel a whole lot better about this.

The Elder Scrolls series is dead to me now.
Yeah, THIS is what's gonna make it real tough to go back to Daggerfall...
Count me in. I have been wanting a MMO of the elder scrolls since oblivion. And im not even a big MMO fan. This can be really good if it maintains the graphics from skyrium. If it does not... im going to be upset.
A large sigh and a meh...
I just don't see it working that well. It feels like MMO's are on the decline; just seems like the wrong time to release yet another into the market...
Whatever... I would just prefer so proper, well thought-out dlc for Skyrim over this. Just my opinion of course.
I'm a little surprised at how much I don't want to play this Elder Scrolls entry they're cooking up.
I've always said making an Elder Scrolls MMO would be a bad idea, but only if Bethesda Games Studios did it instead of Fallout 4 or TESVI. It's too much of a risk, and it's not at all what people want.
I fail to see what anybody has to lose with this, though, since it's being done by a different team. I have zero interest in the game, but I think the reaction is exaggerated.
@ZodiacVII: Oh I am aware of that; Sorry I didn't mean to imply that I thought they were coming from the same source.
I merely meant that I would personally play DLC for Skyrim over a TES MMO. But thanks for the clarification :).
My feelings remain the same however; just no interest in the mmo version of TES at all.
Glad someone posted the screenshots because I just ran across them and was not impressed. Not because of the graphics, I get that it's an MMO and it must have lower spec graphics so more people can run the damn thing at reasonable stability over the internet connected to hundreds of other people. But by the fact that it's just another generic third person, hotkey combat, subscription based, questing grindfest MMO with nothing different. It will be the exact same as ToR, meaning success at launch and a massive fall off a few months later. Paid subscriptions simply do not work anymore. They absolutely have to follow the Guild Wars 2 model of "But the actual game, play online for nothing, but there's paid content in there that's completely optional to generate revenue." They won't do that though and it'll fail because of it.
Also being that this is out before other Elder Scrolls games in the provinces of Black Marsh, Elswyer, Valenwood, Summerset Isles, and the half of Morrowind that isn't Vvardenfall I have to wonder if they'll even be featured (and before anyone mentions it Arena doesn't count since it was procedurally generated). Because if they are it can pretty much be assured that they will be original designs and not those of Bethesda actual. And in saying that I have to also wonder how true they will be to the ideas that Bethesda had for those places. It's a perfectly acceptable conclusion to think that they'll put on their own creative spin and end up fucking it up. Let's not forget that this game has been in development since 2007, and during that time Bethesda could have advised them but I'm sure they were busy will Fallout 3 and eventually Skyrim. So really just how much "advisement" went on?
And it's pretty safe to assume that this is going to be the war between the Thalmor and Empire. So again, what's the point of playing? We already know what happened there, the Empire got fucked up and the Thalmor made them their bitches. Then the Nords got all pissy. There's no point to this.
I REALLY Want to believe this game will hold its ground in the gaming community but just need to wait and see.. :/
An elder scrolls MMO doesn't seems like a great idea to me... i hope they dont plan for TES online to be the last in the series.
