    Overview

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a roguelite set 15 years after the initial zombie apocalypse that took over the world. It is the sequel in the long running series of Flash games starting in 2007 and includes The Last Stand: Union City and The Last Stand: Dead Zone. The Last Stand: Aftermath (Aftermath) is built on the Unity engine.

Players take on the role of "volunteers" who have been infected with a new strain of the zombie virus. As a last courageous act, they have chosen to leave the Colony and make their way out to find

Aftermath deviates from the previous entries in the series with it's procedurally generated worlds and content, the game is designed for replayability. Developed by a two man team at Con Artist Games development started in 2018 and was aided by a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020.

    Gameplay

After choosing a survivor volunteer to head out, the player will jump in the vehicle provided and travel to a randomised location. On arrival, players will explore, loot and fight infected enemies - ultimately looking for supplies to send home and equipment to allow them to delve further beyond the safety of the Colony. Choices will need to be made about maintaining survival, or making it easier for the volunteers that will follow.

Players control a new volunteer each time they die, starting from the colony again. However, currencies they obtain throughout each "run" are retained, allowing for upgrades and equipment to be purchased to make the subsequent run/s easier.
