I've been screenshotting important NPC dialogue since I started playing, as it's a fairly seamless process to jump back and forth from game to screenshot album on Switch. I'm bringing it up because someone on this week's bombcast was saying that they wish there was a more robust notetaking system in the game. This has been my preferred way to deal with that oversight. Has anyone else come to this conclusion?

I played it on the Wii U. I put a little table and a laptop next to me for note taking and I wound up never really using the laptop.

I use this method to take screenshots of the recipe posters inside of some buildings (most stables have one). I should be doing it for dialogue, too! Doesn't even occur to me to do it then, for some reason.

I've been using a notebook, and it's pretty rewarding. There was one puzzle in the desert where I actually drew stuff, left reference markers on my map, and fully Nathan Draked it out. It was awesome.

I wish the screenshot function was built into the game. There's enough locations and directions given that it would be nice to have a way to reference it in-game. I mean, the Slate already functions as a hands-free selfie device, it seems like a weird omission to me.

I also thought the same thing when they were talking about a better note-taking system. I've been using screenshots and I think it's useful, and honestly probably about as many button presses to view your screenshots as if it were a feature in the game. You just hit the home button (which is nice and snappy) and then go to the screenshots page.

This was my thought the whole time.

Shut up and grab a damn notepad ya nerds.

The screenshots thing works also, but I have yanked out a notepad for many games. Her Story, Witness, etc. It's pretty fun! And it's separate from the game so I don't need to pause or dig through menus, just reach for my notepad.
