    Overview

The Lord of the Rings: The White Council was a free-roaming RPG being developed by EA Redwood Shores (now Visceral Games) for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. However, EA eventually cancelled the game. No reason was given for the cancellation.

The game was to be set in a massive world, where the player could choose to explore Middle-earth as a dwarf, human, elf or hobbit. The game was set eighty years before the War of the Ring. AI characters in the game's world were to be powered by the same technology used in The Sims 3.
