Thunder Fox is a side-scrolling brawler from Taito that was originally released on their Taito F2 System hardware. It was ported to the Sega Genesis in 1991. The arcade game later appeared in the PlayStation 2/Xbox compilation Taito Legends.

The goal of the game is to defeat the terrorists in each stage, by walking and jumping to the right while fighting off foes running in from either side. In addition to the default knife, the protagonists Thunder and Fox can also pick up and use weapons with finite ammo like handguns, grenades, and flamethrowers. The grenades in particular are often necessary for taking down bosses. The arcade game also has vehicle sections where the player can drive a jeep or a gyrocopter, but these sequences were removed from the Genesis version.
