I understand that it has a sad story and it's not really a game. I saw it on steam for less than $3 so I said sure. Should I try to beat it in one sitting or is it longer than I think?

It's not too long, but you can play at your own pace. My total playtime was 5 hours (though some of that might have been spent alt-tabbed)

It's about 4-5 hours long. Not sure if you could beat it in one sitting because the gameplay is basic point and click stuff with some trivial puzzles. Even though the dialogue can be a bit rough at times, the main attraction is the story.

It's a game. I wish we had a term for games that was the equivalent of a novella, but it's something like that. If you're playing in one sitting, carve out an afternoon.

I had no idea it was so short. After all this time having it recommended to me, I always kind of pushed it off to the side because I wasn't sure I was ready to take on yet another game that I'd probably never finish. But, seeing as how I could probably knock it out in an evening or two, I'll definitely have to give it a shot.

Short games need to be more of a thing.

Its a story focused game... thing. Like Dear Esther. I call them exploration adventures because the focus tends to be in going to places more than typical puzzles or more contemporary game play mechanics.

Play it at your own pace. It's not real long but the story is very touching. I thought it was anyway.

Some terrible dialogue, RPG Maker XP assets, tears.

You're in for awful/woefully unfunny dialogue, terrible gameplay (lots of half-baked minigames), and slapped-together graphics.

I've been meaning to pull the trigger on this one for awhile. Now that i know it's about 5 hours i should try to get through it sooner rather then later. Useful thread, thanks all.

And it's still one of the best games I've ever played

I finally beat To the Moon and it was probably the saddest game I've ever played. I imagine that it has a bigger impact if you've dealt with the death of someone who's losing their memories and they can't remember you anymore during their final days.

When you find out what had been forgotten due to the "incident" and how it was all going to be lost during the reconstruction it honestly became one of the toughest things to watch during any game I've played.

I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to experience a nice story.
