Pirates will find a way to patch the game and play online. But if they put in some super restrictive DRM in, pirates would find away around that too, and it would only affect legitimate users.

I remember having to use no-CD cracks and Hamachi virtual LAN software to be able to play various online games with shitty DRM services on legitmate copies of games.

I'm okay with that. They're making some attempt to protect their product, as any developer has the right to do, but not doing so in such a way that's going to make playing this game obtuse and frustrating. 

When reading news such as the Diablo 3 bullshit, it's making me miss the old days of CD-keys.

Pirates will always find a way. Always.

This means I'll be able to play this in the pkane! Meaning:
Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3
