    Overview

Trent Easton is one of the main antagonists in Perfect Dark.

Trent was born in Boston on the 1st of July, 1978. In 1991, at the age of 15 he entered into Loyola University, where he went until he joined the NSA in Fort Meade, Maryland as a cryptographer. After only 2 years, Trent left the NSA, having become sick of government bureaucracy, and accepted a position at Ellison Electronic Security, Inc - a subsidiary of dataDyne Corporation. On the 13th of April, 2000 he was named to head up work on a digital information security program contracted to the NSA.

In 2007 the President nominated Trent for the post of Deputy Director of the NSA. Having become dissatisfied with corporate bureaucracy, Trent accepted. This caused many NSA officers to retire, citing the increasing trend towards filling directory-level positions from outside the agency as their reason for leaving.

On the 1st of January, 2018 the President appointed Trent as the Director of the NSA.

Using his position, Trent is frequently lobbying for access to technologies from the President, and he has issues when he doesn't get his own way. During the events of the game he works for the man known simply as "Mr. Blonde". He tries to get access to the deep sea exploration vessel, the "Pelagic II". When the President again refuses Trent puts his contingency plan of cloning the President into action. He is killed by Mr. Blonde when his plans fail again.

Within the game Trent is first encountered in a cut-scene in "G5 Building", and only appears in the levels "Air Force One" and "Crash Site", where he wears a super-shield which is completely impenetrable. He carries his own gun, a DY357-LX (sometimes known as the golden magnum) which is designed to shoot bullets which will shatter on impact, killing anyone in a single hit (two if they are wearing a shield). Even using his gun however you cannot kill him in the levels, as his death is part of the story.
