It's about time we finally get a look see at the villains of this thing. Both Nadine and Rafe Adler (who is all but confirmed to be played by Warren Cole) had been announced months back, but this is the first time we're actually getting a look see at one of them - being the South African mercenary leader Nadine Ross.

...And she's a fucking beast! Seeing her in action brings to mind May Day from A View to a Kill. As mentioned already she's voiced by Laura Bailey, because there are literally like five voice actors available for work in the whole video game industry apparently. Plus, wherever Laura or Troy Baker is, the other (alongside Travis Willingham for that matter) is usually pretty close by. Still, Laura at least looks to be a good fit and certainly knows how to put across an intimidating performance. I can't exactly speak to how her effective her South African accent is, though, but it sounds no worse than other examples of it in video games? Which is still pretty rare all the same. It's assuredly better than her attempt at a northern English accent in Game of Thrones (as Gwyn Whitehill), that I can say...

Yeah, she looks fuckin tough! Goddamn! As far as the accent goes, I dunno. It sounded South African when she said "I'm not in the mood for games," but otherwise I'd be hard-pressed to call it that. Maybe that means it's understated? Maybe that's a good thing? I dunno. Accents.

Laura Bailey and Troy Baker should just work out some kind of package deal bonus for how often they end up working together.

It's nice to see Bailey get a bigger role than her usual supporting roles though.

I'd put money on her ending up being a good guy by the end of the game.

She looks fucking mean! Getting pretty excited for this game. I thought I was super done with this series after 3 but this looks really promising.

I'm totally okay with Laura Bailey; she's super talented and has a good range. Haven't quite reached saturation point with her like I have with Troy Baker, who is also super talented and has a good range but is seemingly in every single video game ever now. I have an almost Pavlovian response whenever I hear his voice now: "Oh yep, that's Troy Baker".

Meanwhile, hearing Nolan North in a video game has come back around to being novel.

My favorite voice actress and as a mean-ass villain, no less! Suddenly, my interest is piqued.

Okay, Naughty Dog. You have my attention.

Its actually a solid effort compared to Baileys other attempts at accents. Certainly better than her Chun-Li in SFV, (not much comparison to be made I just felt like whinging about her bad English VO for Chun.)

UC4 is looking good but not "I want to buy it day 1" good.

Anyone who says the new consoles are under powered should just look to Naughty Dog to prove them wrong. Not all companies are willing to invest time into making such a polished experience, but if they could, you would end up with games like Uncharted more often. Building to the strengths of a closed system will always produce visuals beyond what similarly spec'd PC could ever hope to attain, and Uncharted 4 is proof of that.

gotta admit , I think Laura Bailey might be the best in the business today. Everytime I hear one of her performances, I almost never recognize her but yet still feel compelled to look up the VA because it sounds so note perfect for the character.

You're agreeing with the wrong person. I was just clarifying which 'The Boss' @anonymous_jesse was referring to. I don't really have a singular character I most associate Laura Bailey with truth be told.

I like to think I'm pretty good at recognizing voice actors and I think I'm pretty familiar Laura Bailey's work but I looked her up on IMDB and had no clue she voiced Rise in Persona 4 and Chun-Li in Street Fighter 4. Damn, she has range. Still, the character I associated the most with her is Jaina Proudmore. Maybe because I've been playing tons of Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone.

@justicejanitor: It's probably because of how often I've heard her voice for so many years now, but Laura Bailey is up there with Troy Baker in being pretty much immediately identifiable for me.

Bailey, Baker, Lowenthal, O'Brian, North, Hayter, McGlynn - these I could always pick out after just a few lines.

Laura Bailey's defining role, imho, was Kaine from Nier.
