I haven't owned  a Call of Duty game since the second one, but the craziness of what they do in the zombie mode is the only slightly appealing thing about the series any more.

You know this looks just crazy enough to get me back into Black Ops, I played the story and reached the highest rank in multiplayer(I didn't prestige, sorry Ice T) and didn't really see why I should carry on playing. But something about shooting zombies on the moon in the BO engine just seems downright fun.

Seeing as there almost certainly won't be any Zombies in MW3 I can see how it makes sense for them to go all out and release a pure Zombie Mode mappack. The Treyarch games have zombies and what's left of Infinity Ward has Spec Ops.

I get this for free with my Hardened Edition, right? That's what that news article said. If so, cool.

I sure as hell DO NOT want to spend (waste) anymore money on Black Ops.

By now they could have taken these zombies out of my Call of Duty and made a separate game for them.

Video was awesome. At least someone working for Activision knows how to do something right.

I'd rather see someone Mod a level like this for Left for Dead games. Those zombies are fun to kill.. it doesn't take a fucking rocket launcher to kill 1 zombie by wave 10.. or whatever.

Pass.

how do bullets work in space?

If it's a vacuum environment, they wont be affected by air resistance at all, so effectively they never lose their speed and stay in a straight line unaffected by gravity. They don't travel faster though.

Actually, since there is no oxygen, that would make it impossible for the gunpowder in bullets to ignite, therefore rendering any gunpowder based weapon useless.

Or am i totally wrong here? I'm probably wrong, seeing how some weapons can fire under water. You know what? Never listen to me

You are wrong - there is no oxygen needed to ignite when bullet is fired (as far as I know).

Also there is some atmophere on the Moon, but bullets would travel faster than on Earth (also as a result of lower gravity).

The biggest problem I see here is actually firing a weapon in no/low gravity enviroment would cause the person holding the gun to spin wildly.

Also, it's a video game, so none of these arguments matter at all.

Does anyone else than me find the flaw here? If the map is only on the moon, then its not Zero-G. The moon has gravity...

Never bought a map pack for zombies or multiplayer. Zombies just isn't fun after a certain amount of rounds where all you are doing is spraying stupid amounts of bullets into spongey zombies. I'd rather they did a Left 4 Dead style lots of zombies and some specials.

No doubt this DLC will cost way more than it should.

That's easily solved, just stick that gun in a space suit.

@Xtacles: Maybe not so much the gameplay but the world, events and weapons were grounded in reality.

Why would gravity affect horizontal speed?

Regarding recoil, the funniest part of that trailer to me was the guy floating forward while firing a shotgun. Yeah, video game, and all that, but kids these days are going to grow up thinking shotguns don't have any recoil, which is preposterous.

Because when the bullet leaves the gun, it has a set ammount of velocity, certain ammount energy which allows it to move. When you apply a gravity to this moving object, part of the bullet's energy is "consumed" to counter the gravity force. This leads to the more rapid decceleration - bullet loses speed immediatelly (and ofcourse slowly falls towards the gravity source). I don't really know how to explain it in English any better, hope it's understandable.

Gravity consumes the potential energy stored in the height of the bullet (and turns it into kinetic energy in the direction of the gravity), not the kinetic energy moving it forward. Unless you're on some next-level PhD shit, I think you're misunderstanding the physics. The only force that acts to reduce the bullet's horizontal velocity is drag, which, as was mentioned, would be zero in a vacuum. This means the bullet wouldn't "go faster" initially, but it would have a higher average velocity and hit the target sooner, but not because of gravity.

This assumes you're firing the bullet perfectly perpendicular to the gravity source. Naturally, if you fire the bullet straight up, straight down, or some angle in between, gravity would have an effect on the velocity in the direction fired, as well.

They should stop wasting their creativity on DLC and invest a bit of it in the rest of Call of Duty.

There's no oxygen needed because the bullet shells are air-tight. All the oxygen necessary to ignite the blasting power is already in the bullet itself. However, the temperature in space might be low enough that the powder doesn't actually ignite.

I love Firefly, and that was a creative thing, but it also isn't necessary. ;)
